Recycling and Climate Change…20th April 2020…

Good Morning…I hope you are all well and for those of you who are not… I wish you a speedy recovery…We are now into April and I don’t see any signs of this going away any time soon…Do you?

Who thinks that this virus and the effects it has had on human lives and the environment will be the cause of some major changes within the manufacturing and food industries? Who thinks it will make governments reconsider where their priorities lie…? should they be focusing on which countries are their allies and whom they should be really looking at distancing themselves from…whose practices they should be questioning?

Like many of you, I suspect it has made you question much…It has also scared me…

There are also many theories from people who are not doctors, scientists or privy to what is really going on…

5 G….is causing COVID-19…

So what is 5g?  5G is a new generation of wireless technology which would replace the 4G that we are familiar with. It isn’t limited to just mobile telephone but also includes every kind of equipment that can be connected to the internet.

5G is safe, according to the international body in charge of setting limits on exposure to radiation, which has updated its advisory guidelines for the first time in more than 20 years.

The International Commission on Non‐Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), the Germany-based scientific body that assesses the health risks of radio broadcasts, called for new guidelines for millimetre-wave 5G, the most high-frequency version of the telecommunications standard.

Do I believe that? In all honesty, I do not know…I do not know enough about it…I do know that with many other inventions it has been some years before certain conditions can be attributed to an invention…From what knowledge I have most conditions if they are caused by a product are not contagious they are something an individual has developed.

How or why the school of thought believes that 5G is the cause baffles me…I do agree it may be the cause of some things but not everything…

Plastic isn’t straightforward to recycle. There are common varieties of plastic made from multiple layers of different esters, each one requiring different equipment or temperature to breakdown. And, there are a lot of plastic esters that could be recycled but aren’t because the market value for the recycled material is so low it can’t financially sustain the operation.

Utilizing an enzyme found within composted leaves, scientists are now breaking down plastic all the way into a recyclable form in a matter of hours.

Carbios, the French company responsible for the breakthrough, is already collaborating with Pepsi and L’Oréal to unleash industrial market-scale production of the new substance within five years.

The wildlife is getting braver…Now there are fewer humans about the animals are venturing into the cities…

Electronic waste is a hazardous and difficult form of garbage to manage. Though a lot of e-waste can be recycled responsibly, many e-waste processors choose instead to ship it overseas for junkyards in poorer nations to deal with.

What can be done…To me, it seems like there are small companies recycling e-waste but no major company’s or manufacturers who are disposing of e-waste correctly…

I know that all this is being put on the back burner at the moment but it is also a reality…

E-waste needs to be dealt with…

But where is recycling working?

Can you image no TRASH?

Last week I posted about Dame Vera Lynn and Katherine Jenkins and their single for the NHS ..I can’t believe she is 103 years of age…

A mixed bag today but I hope you have enjoyed the read and smiled sometimes because it is smiling and social isolating which will get us through this…X

My hope for the future is a cleaner world… I do want to see communities, and caring for your neighbour becoming the new norm…WORKING TOGETHER INSTEAD OF WORKING AGAINST EACH OTHER…

Thank you for reading be well and stay safe xxx

About Carol Taylor: Enjoying life in The Land Of Smiles I am having so much fun researching, finding new, authentic recipes both Thai and International to share with you. New recipes gleaned from those who I have met on my travels or are just passing through and stopped for a while. I hope you enjoy them.

I love shopping at the local markets, finding fresh, natural ingredients, new strange fruits and vegetable ones I have never seen or cooked with. I am generally the only European person and attract much attention and I love to try what I am offered and when I smile and say Aroy or Saab as it is here in the north I am met with much smiling.

Some of my recipes may not be in line with traditional ingredients and methods of cooking but are recipes I know and have become to love and maybe if you dare to try you will too. You will always get more than just a recipe from me as I love to research and find out what other properties the ingredients I use contain to improve our health and wellbeing.

Exciting for me hence the title of my blog, Retired No One Told Me! I am having a wonderful ride and don’t want to get off, so if you wish to follow me on my adventures, then welcome! I hope you enjoy the ride also and if it encourages you to take a step into the unknown or untried, you know you want to…….Then, I will be happy!

Thank you once again for reading this post I hope you all stay safe and healthy xx

Thank you, Debby.. Yessss I need to know more… I have been round the block a few times… sigh… Heard the so called experts trot out their soothing explanations on how safe things are and not to worry… Lo and behold a few years later the cracks start to show and all is not how it seemed… Oh cynical me! 💕

So much great information today. I’m particularly fascinated with learning about programs to recycle e-waste.

It’s amazing to see a town could virtually have no trash, but it shows the power of what people can achieve when committed to a common goal.

Terrific collection of stories…I have heard that some feel cellphones and wireless may be a reason that bees are dying…regardless of what we find out to be true to not, the key is to continue to research to make sure we don’t cause irreparable damage to our environment by continuing to plunge into a wireless world – 5 G just another example
