Christmas Day 2020…

Chrismas Day 2020…Who would have thunk…sigh

The first human cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus causing COVID-19, subsequently named SARS-CoV-2 was first reported by officials in Wuhan City, China, in December 2019.

Retrospective investigations by Chinese authorities had identified human cases with the onset of symptoms in early December 2019. While some of the earliest known cases had a link to a wholesale food market in Wuhan, some did not.

Fast forward to December 2020…Yes…sigh…

Globally, as of 6:09pm CET, 24 December 2020, there have been 77,530,799 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,724,904 deaths, reported to WHO.

Covid-19 has impacted all our lives some to a greater degree than others around the world…Yes, like it or not we are all in this TOGETHER…

We can all draw our own conclusions as to what could have, should have, has been done to address this virus…Like all viruses, there are many unknowns…Personally, I would NOT want the job of having to make decisions for so many others…You are never going to satisfy everyone…A thankless task…

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” ~ Calvin Coolidge

May you have a wonderful and beautiful Christmas with your loved ones.

Wonderful post Carol – I agree with you that those who have had to make decisions had an incredibly tough task. There was no way they could please everyone. But they needed cooperation. Some have understood that even if it made life tough, they needed to cooperate, other seem to have been determined to ignore all the advice.
But on the whole I am impressed by the many many sacrifices – small and great – that so many people all over the world have made because they truly do care about protecting people.
The health service has been amazing and many other key workers who kept going in demanding and stressful conditions.
I have also enjoyed coming home from work and seeing the posts on WordPress – they always cheer me up.
I hope you can enjoy a lovely weekend ❤
