I couldn’t not share, Sue… I always remember my friend Pauline whenever I make spiced red cabbage as she gave me the recipe…Food is a wonderful way of remembering it always elicts that warm , happy feeling…I’m now reaching for the tissues again as those feelings are also tinged with a touch of sadness …Hugs xxx

These past few months have been about revisiting old family favourites as recipes and bringing back so many old and lovely memories. And Alex, my youngest, was alllit up to discover I still have the ancient Be-ro recipe books with all the best recipes in there 🙂 xx

Yes, that’s the one. You can still get them from BeRo online, but the recipes havebeen modernised and gone a bit upmarket. I have two, one must be nigh on fifty years old now. xx

Yes I checked on line but the postage is horrendous and as you say the recipes updated… my mums must the first edition I used to make the maderia cake from there I’m sure it was that one..one of first cakes I made as a child..I think 1953 was the first edition something like that…xxx

I mostly use my grandma’s old copy, though she gave me one in the 70s as a wedding gift. xx
