CarolCooks2 weekly roundup…May 30th-5th June 2021…#Stiletto Heels, Whimsy, Music and Lifestyle Changes

Recipes, Whimsy, Music and Stiletto Heels…

Welcome to this week’s edition of my weekly roundup of posts…Especially for you just in case you missed a few posts during this last week…Time is marching on…It is now officially rainy season here so there will definitely be some dancing in the rain…its also officially the month of June…

June contains the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, the day with the most daylight hours, and the winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, the day with the fewest daylight hours…

Just in case you missed any posts this week or love to catch up like I do… snuggle down in your favourite place… get comfy in your favourite corner with your favourite drink tea/coffee or hot chocolate although depending on where in the world you live it could be a glass of wine or two…Cheers!

Bread…

A staple in most diets, but did you know that 1 million loaves of bread are thrown away in the UK?…a day!

They are mind-blowing figures just think how many starving people could be fed it also begs the question why are you not making breadcrumbs, croutons, fruit or meat stuffing, bread sauce, coating chicken or fish goujons, topping your cauliflower gratin there are so many easy ways you can use bread it should never ever be wasted… you could prevent this so very easily…

Healthy Eating…Bread…The staff of life or is it???

Welcome to series 3 of the Culinary Alphabet…WHERE the middle letter is G…

So what’s in store? In this series the A, B, C, etc will be the middle letter, for example, Aga, Cabbage, and Yucca… how easy that will be who knows I am sure some of the letters of the alphabet could cause the grey matter to rebel or implode…haha…I also don’t want to use plurals to form a word as I may need that word for another letter and its sort of cheating I think…unless of course I really get stuck…which I am sure will happen…

Today it is words where the middle letter is G...which as it happens was a lot easier than I initially thought…The Aga..the oven my grandmother taught me to cook with or on… to a child it was big, hot and always on…Bangers is the British slang for sausages…Kugel a baked pudding or casserole…Vegan is a diet plan so food is involved and Clingfilm is our word for plastic wrap… of course, Papa Gino’s is not allowed …x

The Culinary Alphabet …..Series 3… the letter G

I absolutely loved this post…who doesn’t love Monet and I learnt so much as well that I didn’t know then there was Chris Hall…with Planet Earth: Restart..brilliantly written which also provoked lots of thoughts and gave me a chance to read a blog I haven’t read before… it’s fabulous and then there was me in great company I will add…Thank Sally for including me Hugs x

Langsat or the Bon-Bon Fruit…

langsat thai fruit

A beautiful fruit which has to be eaten as it is picked or within 3 days as it soon takes on a musty taste..a little reminiscent of lychees but not as sweet and it is segmented which look like garlic…Lily loves this fruit and is happy to sit and devour it very quickly which means they don’t last long here…They are also quite nice lightly pickled…with some chilli of course…

Tropical Friday… Langsat …The BonBon Fruit…

Saturday Snippets...continuing with a theme which this week is …Stiletto...

The Italian Stiletto is a fearsome and dangerous weapon…you also would not want a stiletto heel stomping on your foot either plus those stilettos nails look pretty fearsome too…the cupcakes however look very pretty and Billy Joel’s …Stiletto lyrics are well worth a listen…

Saturday Snippets…5th June 2021…The Stiletto…

Saturday was also World Environment Day…

Reimagine. Recreate. Restore

This year’s World Environment Day is to bring the focus on ecosystem restoration…

Launched in 1974 and held on June 5th every year it is the time when Civil Societies, Environmentalists, School Students, and Global Leaders take a moment to reflect on how human activities affect Mother Earth.

World Environment Day is observed on June 5 every year to remind people about the importance of nature. The day is celebrated across the world to inform people that nature should not be taken for granted and must be respected for its values.

World Environment Day 5th June 2021…

That’s it for today…Thank you so much for dropping by I always look forward to your visits and comments…Hope to see you here next week xx

Like Pete, I will share this on Twitter, Carol.

No stiletto heels for me ever again. They are fearsome and would be a great weapon if attacked, but my old feet can’t tolerate wearing them any more – ha!
