Welcome to Saturday Snippets where I indulge my whimsy and my passions… maybe a tune or two…something which has caught my eye this last week…just anything out of the ordinary or extraordinary…
Nothing jumped out at me this week…until I was washing up and just looking around in general and the name of my new washing detergent caught my eye…the cogs began to whirring…
Come with me and see what I discovered…my word today is “Seventh”
Seventh can be used as an adjective, a describing word… let’s see how I got on with my search…The first one which sprung to mind was…
7th Avenue, New York…
Spanning just more than 5 miles, 7th Avenue cuts through the heart of Manhattan. This historic avenue runs between Central Park and the Greenwich Village neighbourhood. Broadway Theaters, Times Square and Madison Square Garden are some top attractions that are situated along this important thoroughfare. A walking tour on this pedestrian-friendly avenue leads to some of the Big Apple’s best entertainment, culture, dining and shopping.
Unfortunately, although we have visited a few states in the USA…New York is one we haven’t and is on my love to-do bucket list BUT know we won’t…Ahhhhh
Did you know?
The 7th Ocean is…the Antarctic Ocean (Southern Ocean), a region of cold water that surrounds the continent of Antarctica, which is often considered separate from the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans by the presence of a barrier of powerful winds and turbulent seas.
Home to Penguins, Seals and Whales all magnificent animals…a place which is cold, windy and dry…Just beautiful…it must be a sight to see and remember to those lucky enough to visit.
The 7th outer planet from the sun...is Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and has the third-largest diameter in our solar system.
Was the first planet found with the aid of a telescope, Uranus was discovered in 1781 by astronomer William Herschel, although he originally thought it was either a comet or a star…it is the only planet in the Solar System that takes its name from Greek (rather than Roman) mythology.
Uranus has been visited only once by a spacecraft: Voyager 2.
The 7th largest country in the world by landmass…India…
When I think of India it makes me smile and makes me sad at the same time particularly at the moment with the struggle with Covid…I smile when I think of the curries and spices…the beautiful architecture…The Taj Mahal.. a country that I would love to visit before I die…
Famous British actress Vivien Leigh, famous for playing Scarlett O’Hara in the classic film “Gone With the Wind” was born Vivian Mary Hartley on Nov. 5, 1913, in Darjeeling, India. She returned to England when Vivian was 6 years old.
Beautiful women in saris…Years ago when I was working we had an Indian lady who was one of our colleagues and she brought into work a selection of her beautiful saris for us to try on…they transported us to another time, another world where beautiful women wore beautiful clothes…
Indian cuisine, one of the world’s best-known types of food, is said to have: six types of taste those being sweet (madhura), salty (lavana), sour (amala), pungent (katu), bitter (tikta) and astringent (kasya)….beautiful silks, carpets and henna art…a truly mystical place to visit for me…
I loved this…it took me to places and made me happy…
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.
I loved these films as a child…I was 7yrs old when this was released and a first in colour…
The Seventh Letter…Plato
The seventh letter is Plato, the philosopher, being political. It is a peace-making letter, not only between the historical relationships of Dion and Dionysus but also of Plato and certain people in Syracuse and throughout southern Italy.
Plato is considered by many to be the most important philosopher who ever lived. He is known as the father of idealism in philosophy. His ideas were elitist, with the philosopher king the ideal ruler.
The 7th Chakra…
The seventh and highest chakra is our connector to the divine and our spiritual nature. It also allows for spirituality to integrate into our physical lives. The Crown Chakra, also known as Sahasrara, is directly aligned to seek an intimate relationship with the cosmos. It is the chakra of prayer.
A simple explanation…for the uninitiated like me…

Hi, Carol! Its always wonderful getting all this information, you are providing. There are a lot of news, and most time i am so in this bad tradition of using plastic. Some pushings from you are not harming. 😉 xx Michael

This is all very interesting. I like the way your brain works. I’ve often read that 7 is a spiritual number signifying intuition and inner wisdom. 💗

My brother and his wife took a trip (It was science-related) to Antarctica before the pandemic. They came back with incredible photos, although I’m too soft to take that trip.
