Welcome to this week’s edition of my weekly roundup of posts…Especially for you just in case you missed a few posts during this last week…Time is marching on…
We are now just into the middle of September time just flies…already I am hearing mutterings about Christmas…sigh…although it will soon be time to make the Christmas Cake, Sweet Mincemeat and the Puddings…I will most certainly though be researching any chocolates I buy for Christmas this year as we all know or should know that child labour still happens and the checks that are made before issuing a Fairtrade certificate are not always very stringent…This brings me nicely to my first post of the week which was about Chocolate as it was International Chocolate Day..but you know me I can’t help just checking credentials…so please when buying Christmas chocolates please check their origins and if they are a bargain and cheap just spare a thought for those who pick the cocoa beans and imagine just how little they will be paid for your enjoyment and the companies profits…Just saying!

Plastic…The Latest News…Week 7… Climate Change and Renewable Energy…
Welcome to my Environmental A-Z…today it’s the letter P…I have been heartened to hear how many of you feel like I do that we need to take our own steps to avoid pollution wherever we can…You may have been surprised that as it was the letter P that plastic didn’t feature front, middle and top…it was deliberate… as I bang that particular drum on many occasions and it isn’t all about plastic there are other important areas of concern which can and do affect our health and our families health…like Pharmaceutical waste and Pesticides…

I sometimes get fed up with silly days of the year but when they happened to be something like National Potato Month then I will promote it as I think it is such a versatile vegetable that is used in so many cuisines it deserves to be highlighted as it is not just something fit for soggy chips it is so much more…This week I will be highlighting sliced potatoes and their uses and there are far more than just crisps/chips.

I am getting nostalgic in my old age …maybe it is something which we all do at certain times in our lives…I don’t know…so this week for no better reason than I remember my grandmother and mother making these…Apple Dumplings and it seems many of you do too…
Friday Nostalgia…Apple Dumplings…
It’s that time of year when apples are plentiful and there is nothing like an apple dumpling with custard…How do you like your Apple Dumplings?
The Punch for mean initially conjured up…fruit punch and Punch and Judy…although I found many references to a “Punch”…There were many other references that didn’t involve violence of the worst kind although Punch and Judy shows in the early days were quite graphic…I hope you enjoy my foray through the world of “Punch”
Saturday Snippets…18th September 2021…Punch!
Once again I would like to extend my thanks for the emails, messages and calls of support for our dear daughter and for us stuck here at the moment so far away…it helps enormously…Lauren now knows what lies ahead for her going forward it will be a long road ahead starting with 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy but we hope with support and her fighting spirit she will get through this…on the plus side, her consultant has said she can attend a family wedding in a Cyprus before her treatment starts this cheered her up and she is busy sorting out her wardrobe…Thank you once again I do appreciate all the support…Much love and Hugs xxx

Roundups are great for when life gets in the way…Lauren is healing nicely thank you she is going to Cyprus on the 25th for a week(wedding) and then her treatment starts on her return…It sounds like we are both going through a turmoil at the moment…Please take care and be kind to yourself Hugs xx
