Welcome to this week’s edition of my weekly roundup of posts…Especially for you just in case you missed a few posts during this last week…Time is marching on…

We are now just into the tail end of September time just flies by…the weather is changing on many continents and the yearly sniffles seem to have started with the change in temperatures…the time for warming foods for many is upon us the glut of Apples and root vegetables…it will soon be time to make our Christmas cakes and puddings to allow them time to mature and for others it is springtime…September brings the Autumn dawn…changes in leaves for some and new growth for others…what a wonderful world we live in…as a child I had a fascination for spiders webs so intricately woven and glistening in the morning dew…

So beautiful and delicate…

Back in September 1967 when I was just 15 yrs old…music and film mad…Aunty Beeb decided to join the fray to join Pirate Radio on the waves  …Radio 1 and Radio Caroline…Simon Dee which was a few years earlier (63/4) than BBC Radio 1..broadcasting from international waters …free from UK broadcasting restrictions… it was great fun…The first tune to be aired by BBC Radio 1 was from The Move…Flowers in the rain…followed by Massachusetts by the Bee Gees…

They were the band that got sued by British Prime Minister Harold Wilson(1967)

Plastic…The latest news…

Unfortunately, it’s now time to take action as our actions have consequences in the world of plastic…there is no getting away from it…there are so many small actions we can take which will collectively make a huge difference…Be the change!

It was then over to Sally at Smorgasbord for our weekly look at our health…this post was a sobering one for me as my daughter is currently a cancer victim as are a few of my dear friends…the statistics scare the bejesus out of me…personally and you know what my thoughts are we are being poisoned from every angle bombarded with chemicals, fumes, antibiotics in our foods, pesticides it’s no wonder that the statistics …the figures are increasing at an unprecedented pace… it’s down to us we are in charge of what we eat and clean with and as it’s our health…we must be aware and take action…#highly recommended read

Another great week, Carol! Harold Wilson really didn’t like pop music, did he? Firstly he shut down the pirates with the Marine Broadcasting Act, thus encouraging the Beeb to start Radio 1, and then he sued the Move over a postcard stunt. It cost them, but was great for publicity! Thanks for the memory, and for the mention 😊 x

He certainly didn’t, Clive but as you say the publicity didn’t hurt them however i’m guessing it didn’t endear Harold to the younger electorate though… You are welcome for the mention, Clive.. 😀 xx

Coupled with the voting age being lowered to 18 I think it was a contributory factor to him losing the 1970 general election. Serves him right. Who’d have thought young people would vote Tory! 😂 xx

I was too young to vote in 1970 so my first was in 1974, by when I was at uni in Norwich. The local Tory MP was on record as saying that a second rate golf course had been replaced by a third rate university. Funnily enough, Labour’s winning majority was roughly equal to the number of UEA students 😂 x

  3. Smorgasbord - Variety is the Spice of Life.

Thanks for including the health post Carol.. and reading the comments it is clear how many have had breast cancer or have family members who have. Still far too many and the one thing that does come across after sharing the statistics for the last 30 years is that there is little attempt at finding out the Why? only reactionary treatments. Perhaps they are worried about what involvement nearly 50 years of the contraceptive pill might have! xx♥

I don’t know if the ingredients of contraception has changed over the years or not…but from where I am standing much of what we are given to take if you drill it down can be dubious at best…Thats the sceptic in me as I know some tablets are life saving but there is still much we don’t know I think …xxx

Whilst I am all for vaccines as life savers and there is no doubt contraception is necessary.. you only have to look at families here in Ireland when it was illegal when we got married 40 years ago of 13 or 14 children and mothers in many cases dying far younger than they should. But there are other options but it is getting people to use them! hugsxx
