Day 2 of #Bloganuary…”What is a road trip you would love to take”?
I have been doing what presenter-turned-pasta-sauce-magnate Loyd Grossman…did for many a year and that is conjugating and ruminating on “what is a road trip I would love to make?
I thought about The Atlantic Road, Norway: Belly-flips and bridges make up this high-octane drive along the Norwegian coastline. Where unusual birds fly overhead, seals and whales swim off the coastline. Plus, at dusk, there’s a wickedly orange sunset.
Maybe …Transfagarasan Road: A twisting ride through Dracula country, Romania…or the Great Ocean Road, Australia or The Whit Sundays in Australia…all dreams of mine…
But the only thing with road trips by car, coach or bus is you miss something…I have been on many trips where the scenery has just whizzed by and now I have reached a time in my life where I really want to see…
Yesterday one of my wishes was that I wish I had taken more pictures with my Kodak Brownie Camera…
Therefore my road would be of places I have visited as a child and this time I would really see them and take pictures…I just wish I had the before and after images, as I am sure some may even not still be standing or have been “modernised “…
A road trip down memory lane sounds just perfect…Thank you for joining me today for day 2 of #bloganuary…x
Wise choice!

I have this fantasy of going across the United States and spending a few days with each of my three older brothers. There are four continental time zones in the lower 48 states, and we have a Springer in each one.

Isn’t it funny how the experiences we have as children sometimes leave the most lasting impression on us?

There’s nothing like a good road trip! We love the freedom of following our noses and seeing what’s around the next bend. One of the big highlights of 2021 was our month-long road trip in Colombia – an amazing adventure! Here’s hoping you’re able to make some fun road trips in 2022. Happy New Year!

I think I would love to go to Brittany coast when all this is over. It is were my maternal roots are from, and I’ve been reading some wonderful mystery novels set there by Jean-Luc Bannalec. Highly recommended.

I have all the places and family names gathered, so it will be kind of a pilgrimage that will begin in Quebec.

I would like to drive up the Northumberland coast to the east coast of Scotland again, something I did a few times in the 1980s. Like you, this time I would stop off to enjoy places I drove past previously.
Best wishes, Pete.

That sounds lovely, Pete I do think as we get older we really look rather than just glance and move on by 🙂 x
