Day 3 of #Bloganuary…”Write about the last time you left your comfort zone”…
Definition…noun
Tonight I Dream. Tomorrow I Do!
All my life I have lived within boundaries…boundaries my parents set, boundaries my employers set, boundaries I set for my family…but boundaries…
Then I retired…
The rest is history and the memories we have made and are still making…
“Though nobody can go back and make a new beginning. Anyone can start over and make a new ending.” author unknown…

What a perfect day to read this post – today is my first official day of retirement. I struggled with the decision but ultimately chose to give it a whirl. Your post makes me believe good things lie ahead.

Congratulations.. Personally I have tried so many things I had never dreamed I would.. I suppose the feeling of failure doesn’t have the same impact as when I was younger and much is so much easier than I ever thought it would be.. Embrace it with joy in your heart 🙏🏻

I have been pushing boundaries and stepping outside of my comfort zone my whole life. I thrive on it. 🙂

I feel like so much of my career in TV was outside my comfort zone…fear of the unknown and of failure of course is such a strong emotion!

It most certainly is, John plus so often we don’t always realise at the time..

I felt much the same about retirement, but my biggest departure from a comfort zone was the first time I was left alone to look after my (step) grandson when he was a toddler. As I had never had children, the sense of resposibility was overwhelming.
Best wishes, Pete. x

I’m sure it was , Pete it can be pretty daunting for anyone looking after a child even grandchildren but I’m sure you soon got the hang of it x

I love the words about creating a new ending. I also can identify with your comment about boundaries.

Thank you, Pete I agonised over this one it was a difficult prompt for me..so I just resorted to what I normally do when I’m stuck and just type that normally works for me although I didn’t write as much this time but yes I think most of us or even all of us have boundaries of some sort in life… those words are some of my favourites…:) x
