Day 6 of #bloganuary…Who is someone that inspires you and why?

Every day is a challenge with these prompts but I guess that is exactly the challenge it is meant to stretch us, make us think and grow as bloggers…

Today’s challenge” Who is someone that inspires you and why?”…has made me think long and hard about who has inspired me…Many people have/do inspire me from many walks of life on sometimes a daily basis…When you blog/write and research you come across many people who make me stop and think “what an inspiration”…but who has had the most impact on me…for sheer guts and determination against all the odds…

Stephen Hawking...whose book I am currently reading albeit slowly was seen by many as the world’s smartest person, though he never revealed his IQ score…he had motor neuron disease, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was not expected to live more than two years…the disease robbed him of mobility and speech…

Did he give up?… Did he hell…he defied all the odds when being given 2 yrs to live at the age of 21yrs old …He died at the age of 76 yrs old…That man was so determined to live, work and discover he never ever gave up…

If I could choose who I would ask for dinner from anyone dead or alive he would be one of them…

I am inspired by people who enjoy leaving their comfort zone and do not mind venturing into the unknown…Just like Stephen Hawkin…who could not fail to be inspired by this man as against all the odds he lived and achieved more than most of us in two lifetimes…

This post is part of the WordPress Bloganuary Challenge 2022 where everyone is provided with a writing prompt each day. Today’s prompt was to write Who has influenced you and why?

You chose wisely. When he was alive, I often thought how wonderful it would be if Albert Einstein were alive and the two could meet and talk. Well, now they are doing just that in heaven. That makes me feel very good!

Great question and I like your answer. I am inspired by anyone who thinks of contributing something positive to the world instead of self-interest. I have many people in my profession who inspired me. My master teacher, Cynthia, made me realize that teaching was what I wanted to do with my life. Someone I am frequently inspired by these days is Teacher Jennie, with her brand of teaching wisdom.

Thank you I have always admired him, his thirst for learning , his love of life I mean a man who was given 2 years to live at 21 and lives his life his way to the max until he passes at 76 that is just amazing x

I remember listening to an audiobook by Stephen Hawking’s and Leonard Mlodinow “The Grand Design.” I spent a great deal of time backtracking on the audio because they presented challenging concepts. It was an unforgettable experience. I just wanted you to know, Carol – that my choice of who inspires me is you. I have now graduated to Bread Pudding. This year, you have inspired me to look at ways to repurpose bread that I would simply throw out because it was 2 days old. Sending hugs!

I keep it in a place where I go to contemplate and read a page or two at a time… Its not the sort of book I could read without putting it down as I backtrack a lot as I read it.. I don’t have his mind and his simple is my I have to think about this and read it again if that makes sense x but I will read it too the end and possibly read it twice… x

Who inspires me Many of my relatives, especially the female ones on my dad’s side of the family. Also inspirational: bloggers who write multiple books in varied genres. And…bloggers like you, Carol, who write daily. I don’t aspire to do that, but I admire those who do. Thank you!

I was mainly inspired by my school teachers, in the late 1960s. They showed us that we didn’t have to settle for working-class jobs and education, and could do more with out lives. They made all the difference to me back then.
    Best wishes, Pete.
