Day 9 of #bloganuary…What do people incorrectly assume about you?
What do people incorrectly assume about you?… I started this challenge not knowing what the prompts were going to be but imaging them to be different than they are…in so much that maybe I wouldn’t have to think so hard…How wrong was I ?
What do people assume about me..What I think I want them to …They think that when I write it’s conversational, friendly to the point so they think that I know what I am talking about and that I know what I am talking about as I always say I love researching…
How many bloggers don’t show their true selves but project what they wish to be or what they want others to think are…?
That’s not true with me I say what I think but also believe what I say…but underneath I am not the confident persona I display…especially when I have personal issues…
You are wonderful, Carol! xx Michael

You come across as genuine and…/kind/. Is that all there is to you? Of course not, but how much we reveal of ourselves depends on how much we trust the other person. I’m fairly reserved, on social media or off, happy to talk about my passions, but deeply personal things, not so much.
I think there is a cultural divide between my generation and those who have literally grown up with social media. Or maybe that’s just me. 🙂

I too feel like I am more confident in my blogs; however, I am the same in real life as my blog. With that said… what I choose to share may be limited but not just in my blog, in real life too. Sometimes I feel like an open book and other times closed. It depends on my mood as well as the topic. People could view that however they’d like but I don’t believe this is a one size fits all kind of thing. Just keep being you and doing what you want to! We enjoy your blog!

Social media is a place filled with false images and half-truths. I guess I’m pretty jaded. My impression of you is one of genuineness, Carol.

People often assume I have always lived in Bournemouth, though there is a Dorset accent, probably watered down here on the eastern edge, I can’t always guess who is a local and who a DFL – down from London.

Ah, dear Carol, everyone has personal issues, but we keep them to ourselves; that’s why they are called personal. We only make public what we think is appropriate for public observation, which does not necessarily mean that it is not a part of us.

It is easier to feel confident in blogging than in real life. IMHO

I suppose so but I also think it can increase your confidence in the real world …

Because of my cockney accent, because I voted to leave the EU, and because I moved from London to Norfolk, many local people assume I share their racist views. They are always surprised when I do not.
Best wishes, Pete. x

Yes people assumed because we had moved from West London to Dorset it was for racist reasons when we all we wanted to do was live near the sea!

It honors you, Pete! I thought racism is more common in Germany, but yesterday on BBC One i saw a documentary about this, made my David Harewood. They summarized what a great impact racism also makes on the health inequality in the UK. xx Michael
