Day 24 of #bloganuary…Today’s prompt is…Write about something that makes you feel strong.
That’s a leading question as it could be very different for everyone…strength comes in a variety of forms it could be bodily strength or strength of mind which again can apply to many circumstances…
Growing up we need strength as we progress through our schooling we then go onto higher education and may leave our family home which takes great strength of mind given the so many changes we come across…
We meet someone and fall in love…we may get married or move in together…new strengths are required…
Children come along…and boy do we need strength then…so many challenges present themselves…
I would consider myself a strong person and I navigated all of those things not always easy but I managed and came out stronger…
Then my husband died…everyone is heartbroken and you have children to help get through this..don’t ask me where that strength came from but it did…
All that is in the past now so I guess I am quite a strong person …Then you get sucker punched and both my two beautiful daughters have breast cancer…one had it 18 years ago and it has come back…my youngest also has been diagnosed with breast cancer (you could) not make that up could you although I have a dear friend who lost both her children to cancer a few ago…I needed to be strong for her…
Pat in turn has been strong for me and my girls…I break my heart when I am alone and I have certainly found out who my friends are…but for the girls I am strong…I have to be I am their mum…
This post is part of the WordPress Bloganuary Challenge 2022 where everyone is provided with a writing prompt each day. Today’s prompt was to write about…?. Write about something that makes you feel strong.
Your daughters are always in my thoughts and my prayers, dear Carol.

You’ve had to call on your mental strength a lot in your life, Carol. When it comes to family, sometimes there is no other choice.

I think loss has the potential to make us strong, Carol. But the cost is so high… not that we have a choice. You do seem like a strong and positive person, and I know you’ll be there for your daughters. They’re lucky to have a mom they can count on. Wishing all three of you good health. Sending hugs.

I grew significantly from my brother’s unsolved murder, but I’d rather it hadn’t happened at all, and if I could undo it, I would. ❤

It was a long time ago, Carol. And I grew from it, but it was hard. It did make me stronger. ❤

Oh Diana, if only we could turn back the clock. Time is a harsh taskmaster – it will not be diverted from its movement forward. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending hugs!

Along time ago, Rebecca, and as I mentioned to Carol, it certainly made me more compassionate and kinder. To me, those are strengths. 🙂

They are indeed. I was over at Robbie’s place where she shared that her word for 2022 was patience. My word is acceptance which has a high co-relation to patience. My word come to me when I read these words: “Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” Lao Tzu. This will be a very interesting year for me because, I cling to my day-planner, my lists and my clock as a way to keep the flow going my way!
