CarolCooks2…#bloganuary 2022… Today’s prompt…How do you feel when you look at the stars?

Day 30 of #bloganuary…Today’s prompt is…How do you feel when you look at the stars?

Hooray….those of you who are still with me we did it!…. Well Done Everyone… But how do I feel when I look up at the stars…as I am currently reading “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking very differently than I used to…

I grew up being sung Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to me by my mother and I, in turn, have sung the song to my kids and my grandkids…how my impression of the stars has now changed when I look up now I see far more and wonder at the vastness and mystery of the universe.

It fills me with wonder, makes me a little scared but also leaves me wanting to know more…Thanks to Stephen Hawking…

This post is part of the WordPress Bloganuary Challenge 2022 where everyone is provided with a writing prompt each day. Today’s prompt was to write about…?How do you feel when you look at the stars?

I feel minuscule, like a speck of dust in a mansion. It strikes me as improbable that our planet is the only place where life exists.

I absolutely agree with that, Pete I can’t believe that we are the only life maybe not in our likeness but there must be life out there…Maybe someone somewhere is saying exactly the same as us 🙂 x

I have that book and it sits on a shelf in our caravan. I tried to read it but gave up. When my son stayed in the caravan he had a go at reading it as well. None of our visitors have ever finished it to my knowledge!

Its hard going…I have 3 books on the go at the moment and I read and reread a chapter at a time with this one…it is interesting but I don’t have a mathematical or physics background some of the terminology is new to me however by rereading each chapter I do understand it ..I find it fascinating and scary…:)

When I found out that the stars we see are the light from exploding planets millions of years away, I couldn’t get my head around how long people have been seeing that same light.
    Best wishes, Pete. x
