CarolCooks2 weekly roundup… 30th January-5th February 2022-Monday Musings, Health, A-Z World Cuisine, Antigua and Barbuda, Friday Food Review, Saturday Snippets and Music…

Welcome to my weekly roundup...
February is here… I do hope that those of you who are experiencing lots of snow are staying
warm and safe…I am hearing whispers of 2ft of snow in some places…It does of course look
very pretty when it first falls but is not without its problems…It sounds like plenty of warming
soups and casseroles are on the menus.

What is in store for you then this week if you are catching up…  My new A-Z  World Cuisines featured food from Antigua and Barbuda has been very well received I have had some lovely comments plus it’s fun to research and write… Monday Musings are just some findings from the week before which I either find amusing or not, …

Friday review and the subject was Cinnamon…Saturday Snippets is always a joy to write for me…plus #bloganuary which has been fun sometimes has made me think and frown then wonder where the -beep- they get their prompts from has now ended there are still a few stragglers hanging in there and I admire their tenacity…  it was a struggle sometimes doing 2 posts a day… there are of course other challenges that I may dip in and out of…we shall see how it pans out…

Monday Musings!

It was a short post on Monday…

February 1 marked the start of the  Lunar New Year, also known as the Chinese New Year. This year is the Year of the Tiger! …the beautiful red and gold banners are very where here it looks so festive and the fireworks have already started…Luckily I have a dog who loves fireworks …crazy dog…

Of course, we have Valentine’s Day on the 14th…A full Snow Moon on the 16th, 19th-27th is Real Bread week…there is nothing like real bread is there..hot from the oven…

Music...”The Sound of Silence”…a very nice cover by Disturbed…I love a gravelly voice and David Draiman’s baritone voice was great to listen to…I hope you think so too x

Monday Musings…31st January 2022…

Chinese New Year is in full swing…lots of red and gold…firecrackers and drum banging…Oh and food…lol x

Fun to write and research this new A-Z of World Cuisines is proving popular…

When you are surrounded by the sea...lobster, red snapper, conch, mahi-mahi, shrimp are always freshly caught and plentiful…sounds wonderful to me…

The food can be spicy…but even so, locals add an extra splash of spice with “Susie’s Hot Sauce”...I love coming across these local sauces…this sauce is made by a small cottage business yet it is internationally renowned for its huge taste…even Amazon sell it!

I don’t know about you but sometimes I just need a little reminder of what vitamins I need to incorporate into my diet to stay healthy…Sally Cronin is rewinding these posts… her knowledge of nutrients is extensive and Vitamin B2 is this weeks topic…The recipes including ingredients that contain vitamin B2 have been provided by me and have been tried and tested many times and are indeed family favourites…Please head over to Sally’s and read all about the benefits of including vitamin B2 in your diet…

Who doesn’t love a stir fry...they are the recipe where you can use up bits and bobs of veggies lurking in your fridge..they can just be all veggies or meat or fish…so versatile…This one is on the spicy side but again you can tweak the spice to your palate…Enjoy!

The smell of cinnamon wafting through the house is beautiful…on toast, coffee and I have even put some in my sauerkraut…All is not as it seems with cinnamon as there is an imposter in the house…a cheaper alternative but it isn’t a patch on the real McCoy…Head over and read why…

CarolCooks2…Friday Food Review…Cinnamon…Cassis v Ceylon…

Saturday Snippets…One of my favourite posts to write as I never know where my thoughts will take me…sometimes my muse is kind to me and others she makes me think…However, once I get the ideas down it fosters other ideas…its crazy inside my head sometimes but hopefully once it is written down it makes sense…Enjoy!

Saturday Snippets…5th February 2022…Today’s one-word prompt is “ Eye”

Thank you so much for joining me today…I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend…the sun is shining here and the birds are twittering(loudly) its like a choir the squirrels are up to their morning acrobatics…but for those, of you who have snow…enjoy the beauty but be careful if you are venturing outside…As always I look forward to your comments…see you tomorrow for Monday Musings x
