It’s Valentines Day!… Happy Valentines Day to those of you who celebrate it…But where did it all start?
Roses, hearts and flowers and maybe a cuddly toy…
It hasn’t always been like that…There are lots of tales surrounding Valentines Day but no definite actual this is really what happened…
The ancient Romans shall we start there?... The Romans celebrated the feast of Lupercalia between the 13th and 15th of February…Those Romans and their orgies are legendary the men sacrificed a dog and a goat and then whipped their women with the hides from those poor animals. It seems the woman themselves were up for a beating and actually stood in line as they believed it would make them fertile…
It didn’t stop there as Emperor Claudius executed two men called Valentine on the 14th February on different years in the 3rd century A.D. The church then made martyrs of the two men…and honoured them with Valentines Day…A day of fertility and love…
Valentine’s day today is not quite so bloody it is more hearts and flowers.
For some great Valentine, food ideas head over to John’s Rieber’s Blog...he finds the most delicious food ideas…The Bacon Roses look good…
Just head over to John’s and see how good they look when they are cooked….
I thought I would stay with the spirit of love today and share this beautiful impromptu duet…
What a picture his face and actions were such a delightful duet…
That’s it done with lovey-dovey stuff!
I just love how some say it as they think and how it is (to them)…I’ll hand you over to Andrea and her thoughts…
Myth-busting Omicron – or no, we didn’t have to live with the virus.
That’s all for Monday Musings this week …I hope you all have a fabulous and productive week x
Glad I wasn’t around in Roman times Carol… but love that duet ♥

We are going to end up with a special Valentine’s Day meal after all. Julie ordered Cornish pasties, fresh scones, clotted cream and jam, all the way from Cornwall. It was delivered in a cool-box from 400 miles away! 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x

Thank you, thank you! That duet was glorious. That busker has a wonderful voice, and trained unless I miss my mark. I really hope someone gives him a chance to show what he’s got. And Celinde Shoenmaker is amazing. I’ve bookmarked the video so I can watch it again. 🙂
