Welcome to Saturday Snippets ..my one-word prompt today is “Bubble ”
Where did the word “Bubble ” come from? It is like every one-word prompt my muse just drops it in my lap…then the fun begins…lol…Seriously though it seemed apt as I wrote about Bubble and Squeak yesterday which is potatoes and cabbage fried into a cake shape…so” bubble” it is…
What kid doesn’t love blowing bubbles…there is even a song originally sung by the Cockney Rejects and adopted by “West Ham” as their club song…West Ham is a London Football Team that plays in the Premier League and doing quite well this season…
And no I AM not a West Ham fan…Hubby is…
Chocolate with bubbles…
Comes in milk or plain chocolate, orange or mint…it also makes lovely fudge…
Our grandson made this and said it was very nice…unfortunately he is on one continent and we are on another so we didn’t get to try it…
Some Swiss Cheese has air Bubbles…
What causes the air bubbles in Swiss cheeses…As the cheese ripens, the bacteria are still munching away. One strain — P. shermani — produces carbon dioxide in the process, which forms small bubbles in the cheese. Later, when the cheese is sliced, the bubbles burst, leaving behind empty holes.
Why does pasta make a lot of frothy bubbles…
Pasta foams are due to the accumulation of superheated starch molecules that are found in the pasta. The white foam forms bubbles that trap hot vapour, preventing it from escaping the pot.
The boiling pot of water and pasta then becomes superheated if left unstirred, or the frothy layer is not skimmed off the top in time.
Bubbles Plant…Callisia Bubbles (Callisia repens) is a low maintenance compact pot plant with trailing foliage that can grow to 60 cm long.
Also called Sweet Bubbles, Pink Lady, Pink Panther, Pink Turtle, Bianca, Tangle, Tango and Tricolour! The Callisia repens – most often called ‘Pink Bubbles’ – is a pretty-in-pink, variegated babe that’s super easy to care for in the right conditions.
Bubble City…Champaign is a town in east-central Illinois better known as Bubble City. home to the University of Illinois. twin city to Urbana. sometimes known as Prince Urbana II.
The Bubble Eye is a small variety of fancy goldfish with upward-pointing eyes that are accompanied by two large fluid-filled sacs. It is a dorsal-less fish …
The Bubble Eye Goldfish is a freshwater species that has an extremely unique appearance. They almost look like cartoons!
Because of this, the Bubble Eye is one of the most popular Goldfish out there. It seems like everyone wants to own a fish that looks so interesting.
Did you know?
The colours of the bubbles in your whirlpool arise because of the reflection of white light, which contains every colour. When the white light reflects on the soap various colours appear. You can compare it to sunshine on a rainy day when your eye catches a glimpse of a rainbow.
How many Bubbles?
In a bottle of sparkling wine are about 49 million bubbles! So the next time you’re wondering how many bubbles they’re in your glass, you know that counting them is something you can maybe save for another time.
“Come quickly – I am drinking the stars.” Some people claim that this was one of the first things that Dom Pierre Perigon said when he ‘discovered’ the first sparkling wine. Experts are not too sure this actually happened, but the sentiment is still very much alive today. Wine and its bubbles are still fascinating to us and we love to drink them on special occasions.
Bubble Gum…
Bubble gum has been a rage among the youth for decades…People the world over enjoy chewing bubble gum.
This tiny pink piece of gum helps relieve stress, and it even helps one concentrate! is a mixture of starches and polymers made in a laboratory, and specially formulated to blow big bubbles.
Bubbles …The Chimpanzee…
Bubbles is a chimpanzee once kept as a pet by American singer Michael Jackson, who bought him from a Texas research facility in the 1980s. Bubbles frequently travelled with Jackson; during the Bad world tour, Jackson brought Bubbles to Japan, where they drank tea with the mayor of Osaka…Bubbles is still alive and a middle-aged gent now…He lives at the Center for Great Apes…
That’s all for today thank you for joining me I do as always look forward to your comments xx

Pingback: CarolCooks2 weekly roundup… 3rd -9th April 2022-Monday Musings, A-Z World Cuisine, China , Food Review “Cabbage” and Saturday Snippets where “Bubble” is my prompt. | Retired? No one told me!
Great choice this week. I didn’t realize how many forms of bubbles there are that I like—soap bubbles, bubble gum, swiss cheese, cooking bubbles, and champagne bubbles. I can’t believe someone hasn’t made a cartoon character out of a bubble eye yet—too cute.
