CarolCooks2 weekly roundup… 10th -16th April 2022-Monday Musings, A-Z World Cuisine, Canada , Food Review “Spring Cleaning” and Saturday Snippets where “Squeak” is my prompt.

Welcome to my weekly roundup…Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate Easter…for the first time I managed to get a Cadburys Smartie Easter Egg for the kids…they had to stand by the fridge break off a piece and put it straight back as it melted so quickly…not chocolate weather..luckily hot cross buns don’t melt …just the butter but not quickly as chocolate…

Monday Musings…

One of my favourite posts of the week where I can share some of the posts I have been wowed by or have touched me or impressed me or shown me something new…This week it was the film CODA and as you know not only am I passionate about the environment and waste but I believe everyone should be taught sign language in schools it’s a start with societies inclusion ..this film was beautiful and highlighted the need for us all to understand how isolating life can be for someone who is hearing impaired…was my favourite last week but it doesn’t diminish how much the other posts wowed me…I hope you enjoy!

Monday Musing’s…11th April 2022…CODA, a Human Library, a Monster Lobster Mountain and “Imagine” by Julian Lennon…

This week I shared one of our favourite chicken dishes…Chicken with a Tarragon Sauce.

A-Z of World Cuisine …Canada

Canadian food culture is a changing landscape that has been heavily influenced by many different traditions and recipes from around the world. Every regional cuisine in Canada has its own unique take on food, whether it’s the adaptability of Canadian Chinese food or the pervasiveness of Quebecois poutine…over the years of reading food magazines and blogs poutine has been mentioned…something I have not tried but it is said to be Canada’s National Dish…for those of you who don’t know what poutine is it’s a Canadian dish made of french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy…

CarolCooks2…A-Z World Cuisines…Part 12…Canada…where Poutine is the National Dish and Tiger Tale Icecream is a childhood favourite…

Welcome to the rewind of this series from 2019 where we look at cooking and your diet from a different perspective. Usually, we emphasize the health benefits of food and how they can be incorporated into your diet. But, what happens if you do NOT include them in your diet.

We wanted to share with you what happens if your body is deprived of individual nutrients over an extended period of time.

Today we are looking at Vitamin C…Sally is sharing her expertise on how vital it is for us to get enough vitamin C and what we can do to ensure we do…I am providing the recipes…to read the original post please click the highlighted link below…See you there where Sally and I will give you a warm welcome…

Friday Food Reviews…Spring Cleaning! The Spice Cupboard…

For some of you, spring has sprung…the daffs are in full bloom and the bluebells should be out soon…that’s when I get the urge to clean especially the cupboards…I hoard nothing anywhere else in the house the exception to that is the “Spice Cupboard”…

If you’ve moved house and come across out-of-date tins, packets past their sell-by and jars of spices that have lost their mojo then you know where I am coming from…sigh…

How do you know when it’s time to chuck out that jar languishing among the other jars?

Saturday Snippets where “Squeak” was my one-word prompt…

A natural follow on from “Bubble” had to be “Squeak”  like every one-word prompt my muse just drops it in my lap…then the fun begins…lol…Seriously though it seemed apt as I wrote about ” Bubble and Squeak” a few weeks ago which is potatoes and cabbage fried into a cake shape…so” Squeak it is…plus writing about “Poutine” when I took you on my virtual tour of Canada’s Cuisine ..curds “Squeak” which is how you tell that they are fresh…

Let’s go and see what else squeaks and keep it clean…lol…

Saturday Snippets…16th April 2022…Today’s prompt is “Squeak”

That’s all for this weekly roundup I hope those of you who celebrate Easter are having a wonderful time and the weather is being kind to you…xx
