Welcome to my weekly roundup …July is here… July is the seventh month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and the fourth of seven months to have a length of 31 days. It was named by the Roman Senate in honour of Roman general Julius Caesar in 44 B.C., it is the month of his birth…July 3rd brings the start of the hot and sultry Dog Days of Summer! …
July weather for some is mid-winter and if you are in the northern hemisphere it’s summer warm and rainy…The dog days or dog days of summer are the hot, sultry days of summer…
Let’s start the roundup with Monday Musings…
Monday Musings where normally I share some things that have thrilled me, made me think or smile or even have a mini-rant but generally it is my happy place and I hope yours…July has arrived and is in full swing the sun has followed me halfway across the world and flip-flops and sundresses albeit with a cardi have sufficed…Last week we were in Cornwall which although a tad cold and a little rainy didn’t dampen our spirits…
Monday’s musings were about the Obesity crisis, Bees and Schools on Wheels…please head over to read the original post and the links…
It’s sunny here and time to kick back and enjoy the sunshine with some chicken nachos and a glass of your favourite summer drink…An easy-to-assemble dish that is loved and enjoyed by many…
CarolCooks2 in my kitchen…Chicken Nachos…
Sally is kindly repeating the wonderful Culinary A – Z and a reminder, not only of the amazing variety of food we have available to us today from around the world but delicious recipes to showcase them. Plus an introduction to cooking methods and kitchen equipment that assist in creating meals for all occasions…These A-Z’s are series that I thoroughly enjoy putting together I hope you do too…Thank you Sally for the re-wind…x
My Green Kitchen where I share hints, tips and recipes on how I make my kitchen greener…this month it’s garlic knots who doesn’t love garlic bread or knots we certainly do…of course, its Plastic Free July and I certainly needed that reminder as shops still produce too much plastic in packaging especially black plastic…that can be recycled if you have specialist equipment that many recycling places don’t have…so to landfill it goes it has certainly raised my awareness as especially when the sun shines we/I tend to buy more ready meals…
Both as a child and as an adult I love eating outside for us food tastes so much nicer when eaten outside in the sunshine…today I shared some lighter picnic food recipes and will share more over the month…Happy Eating to those who love eating outside…
CarolCooks2…Friday Food Reviews…National Picnic Month in the Uk…
“Glow”…my chosen one-word prompt this week…and nature certainly does around the world…from glow worms to fireflies, jellyfish and mushrooms science and nature are both wonderful to behold…of course, there are a couple of tunes thrown in,,, just because…x
Saturday Snippets…9th July 2022…Today’s one-word prompt is “Glow”

You perfectly capture the joy of cooking. You are a creative and loving cook. I cook everyday for multiple people. I love cooking, and eating. I also love traveling because I cook less 😉 Stay sage and well Carol დ
