Welcome to Monday Musings and it’s the 1st of August…soon be time to make the Christmas puddings and cake…Just saying!…my phone is on its way back to me courtesy of #thaismile airways such good service…for my musings today its things I think are important to us and to the world we live in firstly you know that two of my daughters unfortunately have been having treatment for breast cancer…Lauren’s maintenance scan after her treatment showed she was all clear which was a relief all round…
I was concerned though that I should be signing a petition for something that should be standard for ALL Breast Cancer patients apparently NOT…Please can you add your signature as all the suffers and families(ME) will be very grateful XXX

Factory Farming…I am not going to show you the gory pictures I think you all know by now exactly how your food gets to your table…I read this post the other day and I was shocked not sure why really at how many factory farms there actually are in the world…this post just shows the scale in the US…Mr Google sort of hinted at the scale worldwide it seems to me that these sites are somewhat hidden and off the radar…Just saying as the information is hard to come by although I didn’t dig as deep as I could have I had just returned home from my travels but trust me I will in the meantime below are some happy chooks, unlike the factory-farmed ones…
I couldn’t agree more Carol. That’s part of the reason why my husband and I wanted to have a small farm of our own. We raise our own chickens and we get food from our garden to feed ourselves. We don’t use pesticides (though I do you some on my flowers) and honestly it’s just a better way to live!

HI Carol, I am glad to hear that Lauren is doing well. How is your other daughter? The use of the contraceptive pill and also HRT increases your risk of breast cancer. It is a double edged sword because the contraceptive pill reduces the risk of ovarian and cervical cancer.

Hi Robbie, Donna is fine thank you she finished her treatment way before Lauren as Lauren had some adverse reactions so they had to keep changing her chemo….Sounds like we can’t win then 😦 double edged sword is correct, Robbie…

Great to have you back. I signed the petition and hope both your daughters become beneficiaries of a better, more caring system, worldwide.
I’d read about the Inuit diet and just assumed that they’d adapted to their environment. Or maybe their gut bacteria did? On a more general note, I’m convinced the modern western diet is killing us. Food is such a big business now that profits drive production, not nutrition. 😦

Thank you, Andrea… I agree that it is the modern western diet killing us… It will also sadly happen to the Inuit people if they are introduced to the Western diet 😒x

Yes. Probably even faster as they’re not attuned to it.

Sign, sealed and delivered Carol. I try my best to eat organic. And these days, it’s more fish than meat, which I don’t eat a lot of, but it’s narrowing down even more. ❤

Also… their health is directly related to soil quality. Todays soil is deprived of life and nutrients.

I’ve always thought that maybe people were healthy back then because they ate food the was relative to their environment. They didn’t eat bananas in illinois because bananas don’t grow in illinois, for example. They were adapted and attuned to their immediate environment. Just a thought! 🙂 thanks for sharing and your consideration to my post! Always love the information you share

You are very welcome, Tiffany… Eating food relative to their environment is an interesting thought i. e. the Inuit peoples… I still believe though its when highly processed foods are introduced to peoples diets plus all the hormones injected or in the feed that animals are given play a huge part in our health… Plus exercise no cars or even bikes way back then…

I have signed. A mammogram is just an X-ray, proper scans are more sophisticated; remember when charities used to fund raise for A Catscan to be installed in a hospital, now there is a wide range of equipment. Expensive to run of course, appointments complicated with Covid and the sheer numbers of patients. We have a patient care team we can contact in the next five years, but how to know if there is a problem with all the many signs to look out for, which often resemble Covid and all sorts of other aches and pains! But if we think there is something wrong we get called in and hopefully have access to scans if necessary. Best wishes for both your daughters Carol..

Thank you for your best wishes Janet…and you are correct if you have any problems…they should standard and regular..my friend Rosie had been feeling unwell and visited her GP on a few occasions before he recommended a scan she is now on palliative care as the scan was too late for any treatment…her first cancer was 15 years ago the chances of a reoccurrence are almost guaranteed so to me scans should be at least annually for however long…Hope you are well, Janet 🙂 x
