Hello and welcome to my weekly roundup of posts you may have missed during the week…September is here...the start of high season and sunshine for some and the start of shorter nights and colder days for others…
September is the ninth month of the year it is also Classical Music month and personally, I love classical music …lots of food months in September like potatoes, rice, mushrooms, Italian Cheese, honey, chicken, and whole grains all foods I like…September, in Old England, was called Haervest-monath (Harvest Month). This is the time to gather up the rest of the harvest and prepare for the winter month for those of you who are in the Southern Hemisphere…
Last week for me and for the rest of the world was a sad week…on Tuesday I heard a dear friend passed away and on Thursday Queen Elizabeth II also left this world after 70 years of service and dedication to the Crown and the British people…a sad week and losses for so many around the world both personally and countrywide…
Monday Musings…
Welcome to Monday Musings…Monday Musings is where normally I share some things that have thrilled me, made me think or smile or even have a mini-rant but generally it is my happy place and I hope yours… Today it is a thoughtful place when I look around the world and see not only is there so much that is right and to be celebrated there is also so much that must be put right…Social Media and attitudes are continually disturbing me…I am by no means perfect and don’t profess to be but it’s time we were all kinder and more accepting of the differences of those around us…Hence bullying and depression plus music are the subjects of last week’s Monday Musings…I ended with music as I believe we should all have music in our lives…
Monday Musings…5th September 2022…Depression, Bullying and some Music…
Next in Carol’s Kitchen and it’s time for a Chicken recipe...
A chicken recipe with my new favourite ingredient called Nduja…pronounced “en-DOO-ya”…easy when you know how!
CarolCooks2 in my kitchen…Chicken, Pineapple and Ndjua Bake…
Time for another post in Carol Taylor’s Green Kitchen…this month there was no bread recipe as I haven’t baked any since I have been back from the UK…it has taken me a few weeks to get back into the swing of things…I have however made some chilli jam and it is delicious, especially on a hard-boiled egg…a simple snack. I am back on track to reduce waste especially leaves..green waste in the kitchen and there are some easy solutions to cut the waste and use those limp leaves…plus if you have a tomato shortage in your state then there is a link for a solution…Please head over by clicking the highlighted link below.

So many things need fixing in the world and the Worldwise rise in Obesity figures shows there is a problem all this has a knock-on effect on the health systems worldwide…Please head over To Smorgasbord Health Column by clicking the highlighted link below…
Sadly I woke up to the news that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away…was it a sign when the double rainbow appeared where and when it did?
A rainbow is a sign of hope and although the nations will mourn our beloved Queen’s loss she is now reunited with her prince…Rest in peace, Ma’am…
Her Majesty was Head of State for a population of 144 million across the UK and the Commonwealth Realms. During her reign, she visited every realm and every region of the UK, returning to some many times over…she also had a brilliant sense of fun… altogether great Queen… the end of an era…
The End of an Era! and a Rainbow…
Aromatic leaves are a big part of my cookery recipes and today it was part 3 of “Aromatic Leaves”
I am always on the lookout for aromatic leaves as I know how they can change the flavour profile of a dish…although many of these leaves are native sometimes to countries on the other side of the world to you…they are grown quite successfully in other climes or are dried and available as spice mixes sometimes they are frozen so it’s always worth looking in the freezer section of your local Asian store or checking online in the state or county where you live as often small growers do cultivate some of these plants or even Amazon…
If I come across a new leaf, fruit or vegetable to me I always check online first and many I find that way like my Indian Bay Leaves which are a recent addition to my spice cupboard.

Saturday Snippets...my muse is wonderful and comes up with most of my one-word prompts with little help from me…today’s one ..where and how she came up with that I don’t know maybe she had cut herself …but as it happened I learnt a few more things and that makes me happy…a new chilli who would have thunk?
Yes one of my favourite vegetables always bleeds and I also spared everyone by not playing the obvious song by Leona Lewis and quite frankly I’m sure you are glad to be spared…I mean Linkin Park and Fleetwood Mac for me are far superior…I hope you enjoy!
Saturday Snippets …10th September 2022…Today’s one-word prompt is “Bleed”
Thank you for joining me this week for my weekly roundup as always I look forward to your comments…I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend its been a blowy and rainy one here..See you next week xx

I loved the way you used “bleed” in a sentence and I love that you add other advice from cookbooks you love into your recipes! The fragrant leaves one looks extremely cool.
