Monday Musings is where normally I share some things that have thrilled me, made me think or smile or even have a mini-rant but generally it is my happy place and I hope it is yours… Today it is a thoughtful place when I look around the world and see not only is there so much that is right and to be celebrated there is also so much that must be put right…Social Media and attitudes are continually disturbing me…I am by no means perfect and don’t profess to be but it’s time we were all kinder and more accepting of differences…both in cultures and opinions…
Last week was a sad week for me and many others around the world…Queen Elizabeth II left this world to join her prince and the double rainbow that appeared that very afternoon over Buckingham Palace cemented that thought for me I know it was an act of nature but I believe it was also a sign…
As I type the Queen is making her long journey home from her beloved Scotland and it seemed fitting to me that she passed somewhere she loved Balmoral Castle…she had a privileged life but to me, she was like a bird in a golden cage…now she can fly free…
Known for her wicked sense of fun and humour she was also dedicated to her role as Queen and Monarch and no one did it better…always a constant in my life she will be missed as much as if she had been my grandmother…
She ruled with both dignity and grace and will be greatly missed by so many around the world…God Bless the Queen…
That is all for today as I can’t think of anything else which is appropriate and fitting to share this post it should stand alone just like we do without our Queen…
Lovely, Carol.

I can’t help thinking that the three /best/ monarchs in English history have all been women – Elizabeth I, Victoria, and now Elizabeth II. -hugs-

We were in the UK for the Jubilee and given the sentiment all over I am sure she will be sorely missed. One can only hope the King lives up to her standards, and that the Monarchy can move forward without scandal.

She certainly will be sadly missed, Tandy.. I have only ever known the Queen as our monarch as many us have.. I too hope that all the scandals will be a thing of the past…

She demonstrated better than most how having a sense of humor can lighten the load and reduce everyone’s tension.

She most certainly did, Pete and that endeared her all the more to us

A lovely tribute Carol, A day indeed that the world will remember for all different reasons.. A bit like the day JFK was taken.. I remember that day too and can clearly still see the TV and news presenter of the day informing the world of that tragic event.. May the Queen rest in peace.. 🙏
