Good morning and welcome to Saturday Snippets where my muse struts her stuff and gives me a word…a one-word prompt I still have no clues as to where she gets the ideas for my prompt from … Today’s prompt is “Firecracker“…a loud, explosive firework, typically wrapped in paper and lit with a fuse…

There are many songs with firecrackers or fireworks in the lyrics but we all have our favourites and these are mine…I hope you enjoy!

Firecracker…was quite predictable in so much as there are many plants and recipes with “firecracker” in the title…from orchids to myrtles or just the firecracker plant they are very pretty with prolific flowers…

It’s now time for some more music where Josh Turner is as easy on the eye as the flowers above…

Alabama Firecracker Crackers…are saltine crackers popped in a ziplock bag with the below mix and apparently, they are very moreish and addictive…I’ll let you know …

In a small bowl, mix cayenne, red pepper flakes, ranch dressing seasoning and oil together and then pour over crackers. Toss the crackers until they are well coated and the majority of the herbed oil has saturated the crackers. Then let them sit for 30 minutes…also called swamp crackers…

Firecracker Drink…of course there is…

Firecracker Chilli Melting Cheese Dip…I first sampled this on my UK visit my son pulled out all the stops to tempt my palate and this went down a treat…A pot of blended full-fat soft cheese, with some grated  Red Leicester cheese and of course some chilli flakes. Then pop it in the oven until the cheese melts just picture this where creamy, melting cheese meets the hot kick of chilli in this indulgent cheesy dip…Delicious!

Firecracker Fish…

Tropheus moorii is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Tanganyika in Africa. Over 40 different colour morphs of this species are dispersed throughout the lake, ranging from dark green to flame red and yellow. They mostly feed on filamentous algae on the rocky shallows they inhabit…
