World Porridge Day…first held in 2009 it was started in Argyl, Scotland to raise funds for “Mary’s Meals” a charity that aids starving children in developing countries…The World Porridge Making Championship has taken place alongside the day since 2009…
Here is a video clip from one of this year’s finalists…Good Luck to them all …
We always used to start the day with a bowl of porridge and hubby still does here he loves his porridge oats…Porridge oats are healthy, warming and on these cold winter mornings that are coming for some of you it will provide a cheap nutritious meal, especially now food prices are rising…
I’ve always liked oatmeal. I’ve been know to eat it for lunch and supper, as well as breakfast.

Love a bowl of porridge on a winter’s morning with a bit of honey. I once ordered porridge in a Scottish hotel and said I would have their special.. I must have been a bit bleary eyed and missed the bit about the tot of whisky lol.. ♥
