Good morning and welcome to Monday Musings…
Monday Musings is where normally I share some things that have thrilled me, made me think or smile or even have a mini-rant but generally it is my happy place and I hope yours is…October is nearly over…Halloween is coming…It’s also UK Coffee week, and Wednesday is Apple Day UK I do miss apples from the UK… the lovely Coxes Pippin, and Bramley Cooking Apples that make the best Apple Pie…
It’s now time to have look at what caught my eye last week…
Firstly it was this post from Debby…Writers Tips…I’m sure that many of you like me are fed up with spammers …well Hugh has some good tips on how if we do our housekeeping on our blogs then we can reduce spam as they tend to latch on to the older of our posts…Therefore I have been deleting and rescheduling in the hope that I can thwart these pesky bots and spammers…
Please click the highlighted link below and have a read…
It also seems that extremists in Germany have taken a leaf out of the stupid girls In the UK who threw tomato soup at a Van Gogh Painting and they threw mashed potatos at a Monet…Is the world going or gone mad when people think that the problems are going resolved by actions like these…
Now for the good News…
This video shows the positive steps that are being taken to reduce waste and reduce the carbon footprint…maybe some of these activists could take a leaf out of the books of people who are making positive strides to make the world better for the future…
This video is long but shows many positive steps being taken and I found it enlighting and made me feel better and more positive…there are plastic bags, flower waste, cigarette butts, black carbon and food waste all being saved from landfill..some brilliant ideas…
Thank you for joining me today as always I look forward to your comments x
So true about the climate activists.

It’s crucial to become enlightened about climate change, but this is not how to bring attention to an important issue. I wonder if they realize that by doing stupid things like this, they’ll likely get more negative attention that overcomes what they’re trying to accomplish.

I sometimes really wonder if they are capable of rational thought they just focus on vandalism being the way forward for their cause when nothing is further from the truth as you rightly point out, Pete.

Trevor Noah rightly pointed out (in his inimitable way) that the people who are denying climate change don’t give too hoots about fine art (if they’ve even heard of it).

He is absolutely correct, Liz it is so apparent by their very actions..

Hey, Liz. I don’t know if you’ve ever read Trevor Noah’s autobiography, Born a Crime, but it is well worth it.

Reducing waste is certainly good news, but defacing Van Gogh and Monet’s paintings – what kind of crazy world is it?

Stupid actions and positive change that never gets acknowledged…thank you for shining a spotlight on the positive – there are people who are trying to make a change for the better – and NOT by showing food!

I am so tired of the antics of the climate change protestors thinking that defacing things or disrupting travel furthers their cause. Climate change needs to be discussed at the highest levels, and these people just make others ‘switch off’. They are plain stupid if they think they are making one jot of difference.
Best wishes, Pete. x

I agree with all of that…. I’m afraid if they were my kids they would get a piece of my mind like it or not… Too much time on their hands… x

The world is getting harder to understand. I think besides ‘save the planet’, we need to include ‘respect others’. That’s become lost.

I have no idea how throwing food and paint at artwork promotes climate change action. It makes absolutely no sense. There’s no connection. Thanks for sharing all the good news too, Carol. That makes me feel better. And what a contrast to the stupid art-haters who accomplish nothing of value whatsoever.

It is indeed a contrast to those stupid females who think vandalism is the answer to the worlds problems…I’m glad you feel better I certainly did after I had watched that video, Diana…x

I had to look up their reasoning for the vandalism, Carol. I still think it’s a ridiculous idea that is hurting their cause more than helping it.

Absolutely there is no correlation between their actions and their cause(s)…They as you say likely hurt their cause rather than help x
