Hello and welcome to my weekly roundup of posts you may have missed during the week…weather wise it has been heating up so much for being “winter”…its nice weather to walk in though especially in the early mornings before the sun gets high…For those of you who are experiencing -temperatures wrap up warm…I just can’t get into the Christmas spirit this year I am way behind with my preparations and cooking … it’s going to be the last-minute rush methinks…anyway onto last week a few goodies for you…plus some naughty “Yule” lads but it wouldn’t Christmas without them…

Churches and their stained glass windows have always held a fascination for me maybe it was because I spent so much time in a beautiful church as a choir girl and to see this sushi with its lovely stained glass topping revived my memories…my Christmas tree decorations have travelled the world with me and many of them have their own story and special meaning just like this Christmas Mushroom, plus it wouldn’t be Christmas if I didn’t revive and rewind the story of “The Naughty Yule Lads”

At Christmas, I think we all roll out our favourite recipes ones that we trot out year after year like the Christmas decorations many of these recipes bring their own memories although I do try to make at least one new recipe every Christmas this Christmas Sauerkraut is a relatively new recipe but is fast becoming a keeper and one that will be trotted out every year…

Eating edible flowers is very much part of the culture here and around Asia…edible flowers are also used quite regularly now by many chefs and they certainly brighten up a dish and make it look special and so pretty as we do eat with our eyes…do you use edible flowers in your cookery?

Turkey looks so delicious on the Christmas table surrounded by all the other lovely dishes but it’s not the easiest meat to cook as it’s not just the cooking it’s the timing and cooking your first turkey can be very daunting… I hope this post helps with those fears plus turkey is also a very healthy protein and this is where Sally steps in and tells us just how healthy a turkey is for us…
