How do you cook it Diana in liquid or in the oven?

Oven, Carol. I never considered cooking it in liquid (until I turn leftovers into soup).

I always cook mine in liquid and finish it in the oven x

Shared both posts on Twitter, Carol. A Christmas Ham is a great tradition that seems to be dying out here.
Best wishes, Pete. x

Thank you for sharing, Pete…That is such a shame to hear that as it’s one of the easiest things to do I know it is a little time-consuming but so worth it for the taste…I would not be in anyone’s good books if I didn’t make a ham…xx

The recipe brings back memories indeed. We usually had a ham at Christmas, and my mom loved dolling it up as much as she loved decorating the tree. She never did the home brining herself though!
She usually put pineapple slices and cherries on hers, and even though I never cared for ham, I always wanted those caramelize pineapples!

Ahhhhh Christmas memories are one of the best parts of Christmas for me..they do look pretty with pineapple and cherries my mum always went for the cloves and honey…I love caramelized pineapple though one of my favourite things I normally do that with gammon…x

One of my first jobs in the kitchen was putting the little cloves in the cross-hatch of the ham. I remember feeling very important!

I’m sure it did I know how the grandkids love doing any jobs like that their little faces light up ❤
