Hello and welcome to my weekly roundup of posts you may have missed during the week…weather wise it has gone from hot to cold late this year but I have had to get a cardi out… it’s still lovely in the early mornings I have even got the lycra out as on a couple days a week I lap the park with my son he pushes me to do more which is good-smile-…For those of you who are experiencing zero -temperatures please wrap up warm…
I just can’t get into the Christmas spirit this year I am way behind with my preparations and cooking … it’s going to be the last-minute rush methinks…how’s your Christmas preparation going are you ready or like me trying to catch up?
Monday Musings…
Snow in the UK…and it settled and was quite deep which is unusual in December more often than not you get a flurry of snow that doesn’t settle or a few centimetres that have disappeared by the next day not so this time and it caused its normal chaos…but it looked beautiful when freshly laid…there are also food-themed tree ornaments from John which are so cute and of course as I just love Christmas Carol’s and its that time of year..just saying!
Monday Musings…12th December 2022…Snow Storms, food-based Christmas tree ornaments and Stille Nacht!
As I had surplus cranberries in my freezer I thought I would make a cranberry and chilli jam and why not I love cranberries and chillies…it is very nice and it can be used with cheese and crackers or just with a hardboiled egg(my fav) as a snack, as an accompaniment to meats or a glaze for fish even on toast if that’s your pleasure…
Today I took part in Staci Troilo’s Cookie Exchange and there are certainly some lovely cookies so please head over and take your appetite with you…
My contribution to the Cookie Exchange was some white chocolate cookies with ginger and tahini(recipe)for tahini included sandwiched together with some easy make ice cream ideal on a warm day…
Everywhere I go I am seeing flowers for sale amongst the vegetables and all edible…flowers are very much part of Asian cuisines…
Friday Food Review…Edible Flowers…Part 4…Elder Flowers, Basil Flowers and Pink Mempat Flowers…
When it’s foggy and icy or snowy we all need something to warm our insides today I am sharing a hot chocolate recipe plus two other nice warming recipes that are easy to make and keep warm…
I’m over at Bernadette’s today where she invited me to share a Christmas recipe and it had to be ham…I think most people enjoy a Christmas ham I know my family do and I would never be forgiven if I didn’t make a Christmas ham plus I like to carry on the family tradition as my mother and my grandmother always made Christmas ham…
CarolCooks2…Homemade Christmas Ham…
Thank you for joining me today for my weekly roundup as I know most of you are busy with Chrismas preparations…as always I appreciate your visits and your comments xx
Love all the recipes this week. Happy holidays to you and your family, Carol. We’re driving about seven hours north to get together with family on Friday. We got stuck in the snow last year (not literally, but the road closed) Hopefully, we’ll have better luck this time.

Shared your roundup on Twitter, Carol. Hope you had a better Sunday than we have had. I can’t even be bothered to cook today, so I am ordering an Indian delivery later.
Best wishes, Pete. x
