Welcome to Monday Musings where my muse pinpoints anything exciting or unusual we have read during the last week, it could be anything…I love chocolate… chocolate anything really…O mean who doesn’t?… I love hot chocolate no marshmallows though…I love it with churros and I do love chocolate mint creams…
What I didn’t know was what the largest cup of hot chocolate was to find out and discover some other facts about “Hot Chocolate please click the highlighted link below…
https://culturadealgibeira.wordpress.com/2023/01/08/funny-facts-about-hot-chocolate/
The latest news around the world “Spare” will be released tomorrow…if you didn’t know it is Prince Harry’s story…I for one, unless I am given a free copy, will NOT be spending my hard-earned cash on that book…it does beg the question though… who is telling the truth???
I have lived long enough to know that the media and social media cannot be trusted to tell the truth and will we ever know we weren’t there…and the book is only one side of the story…
Thinking about chocolate …a tune for you…
Yesterday I jogged during my early morning walk for the first time in 40 years…today I did a tad more spurred on by seeing my son a way ahead of me he takes a different route sometimes(longer) than mine…Thinking initially I could catch up and tap him on the shoulder he has his music on so if I called he wouldn’t hear.
I decided to do more spurts of jogging and although I got close I didn’t get to tap him on the shoulder however it was my best day yet I knew I had exercised and my stats showed me how well I had done I was double chuffed and old age can catch me up I decided and it won’t be easy as I ain’t standing still- In December I completed 154.32km after deciding I would up my game and let the sands of time chase me…
Today I did better and did 6.38km and upped my game got my heart rate up and jogged a bit further…I am not jogging the whole route just in bursts but reduced my time and increased my heart rate so I am happy…
Time for breakfast of fresh papaya, passionfruit, pineapple, fresh coconut flesh and live natural yoghurt and coconut juice to drink….ideal for me as it is not cold if it’s cold where you are then here’s a lovely recipe for a homemade Protein hot chocolate just right for keeping you warm after your workout.
Have you upped your exercise lately or thinking about it? Do you have any tips? Please share and we can motivate each other…
Thank you for joining me today I hope you are all well and happy and hope you have a great week ahead…as always I look forward to your comments x
Here’s to chocolate! I will pass on Spare, too. I feel sorry for the Royal Family, yet Harry and Megan are longtime dear friends of the son of good friend. There are two sides to every story.

Of course there is and I don’t believe we will every know what really and truly happened …I just think for a couple who profess not to like publicity they are courting it …I’m with you on the chocolate though 🙂

3 days of spam free I woke up to no spam…yes it is mainly older posts I just when through the list of spammers and what posts they were targetting and closed comments on those i/m sure they will pop up on another at some point but I will just repeat the same…xx

That’s a great idea! Remove them as we see the comments come up instead of going through thousands of posts lol ❤

What a lovely and inspirational post! 💕 I’ve been trying to get up the motivation to start exercising more myself. Wishing you all the best!

Hi, AnnMarie thank you for your kind words…I hope you can find inspiration it does get easier and more addictive. I get grumpy with myself if I don’t exercise every day 🙂

Fantastic distances in December and daily Carol and jogging in short bursts has been shown to be more effective than jogging all the way. with you on the chocolate although don’t eat as much these days but on a cold winter day nothing nicer than a hot cup of the stuff.. hugsxx

Thank you, Sally..I don’t drink it often but enjoy it when I do even though its hot most of the time here we do have some colder mornings this time of year for the first time since I have been here it was thick fog this morning and its times like that when I like a hot chocolate but a little of what you fancy does you good…As for the jogging short bursts are enough for me I couldn’t do the whole route and don’t think I would even try and as you say short bursts are better in so many ways I don’t want to injure myself just get fitter and to lengthen the gap between me and the sands of time-smile-Hugs xx

Thank you, Norah…it got the point that I was walking so fast, I had to jog it surprised me and I loved it. I used to jog when younger however my legs and feet are complaining a little today so I just took a slow walk this morning just over 5 km but tonight it was easier but I’m pushing it I know and will keep to a walk tomorrow morning maybe I ‘ll confine the jogging to 3 days a week not 7 and give myself time to recover in between with slower walks…:)

That sounds like a good plan, Carol.

Thank you, Norah I think so I spoke to my daughter and she said to make sure my knee is completely better and then taker it slower I do think I pushed myself too hard too soon …A lesson learnt 🙂 x

So glad I surfaced today to read this post, Carol. I’ve already been a big fan of yours, but I love that you decided to start jogging. That raises you up another couple of notches in my eyes. Better you than me. 🤣 An arthritic knee and back say no to running (I can’t think of once when I ran and thought, “This is fun.” Yet, I get a sense of accomplishment when I ride the elliptical and do other exercises that aren’t as hard on my joints.

Thank you so much, Pete, for your kind words..it got to the point when fast walking morphed into a jog but today I know I have done it I also know that at 71 yrs old with 72 creating up in September I need to be careful I don’t have back or joint problems at the moment however I’m a bit sore today so did a slow walk of 5.12km…I will probably do the same tomorrow as I don’t want to bring on any problems with my joints and will maybe restrict any jogging to 3 days a week to see how I go…but(bragging) now-smile- I was in extreme for 7 mins, anaerobic for 13 mins, aerobic for 23 mins and fat burning for 31 mins so I was happy with those stats…But I agree its what we get fun/accomplishment from that counts plus being sensible given our age/body condition Thank you again for your kind comment, Pete it is much appreciated 🙂 x

If it’s been 40 years since you jogged, I’d take it easy, Carol. You don’t want a sprained ankle, or worse. Brava, for trying.
About hot chocolate, this week I found a curious presentation of the beverage at my grocery. The beverage was packaged as a Christmas tree ornament, round and etched with silver. When you immerse the “ornament” in steaming, hot water, the chocolate dissolves and mingles with the mini-marshmallows inside the “bulb.” Very clever!

Oh wow! that sounds very innovative I love things like that, Marian…Thank you and yes I did a slow walk today and will do tomorrow as I did push myself yesterday and do not want to tempt fate so will be sensible I do not want a sprained ankle or worse at my age …Thank you for the word of caution 🙂 x

As a short story writer, I can relate to the feeling of being motivated by a loved one to push ourselves further and strive for improvement. It’s amazing to see the progress you’ve made in your jogging journey and the dedication to improving your health. And who doesn’t love starting the day with a refreshing and nourishing breakfast like that? Keep up the great work and don’t let age hold you back. You’re an inspiration!

I am heartily sick of hearing about Harry’s book, he has even managed to upset his army family!

Yes, I read that but won’t be buying the book…The media is having a field day and for someone who didn’t want attention, Harry has certainly invited it with his actions…Silly boy!

Happy New Year to you Carol and congratulations on your punishing regime (well it would be for me). And, I’m not buying that book either.

Congratulations on jogging! I have to confess that I am someone who doesn’t love chocolate. I like it, but I don’t love it. However, hot chocolate is one of the exceptions: I do love that.

Thank you, Jeff as for chocolate I love hot chocolate and any chocolate which has been in the fridge or freezer I like mine crisp and cold but the chocolate here has something in it to stop it from melting and I don’t buy that so it’s not often I get proper chocolate..just as well-smile;

I used to like Cadbury’s Drinking Chocolate made with hot milk. Also Ovaltine and Horlicks. I haven’t had any of them for years now, as I find them too sweet.
Well done with the jogging. I have never been a jogger, but I am a fast walker!
Best wishes, Pete. x

Lovely and who doesn’t love chocolate.. Wish I could say the same for our Royal Family feuding in public…. I cannot abide all the back-biting and jealousies which is going on between brothers.
And well done Carol for jogging with your Son.. Way to GO!…. I know I have vegetated over winter but will soon get back into shape come Spring and planting time.. 🙂
Have a great New Year Carol ❤
