Hello and welcome to my weekly roundup of posts you may have missed during the week… weather-wise for the first time since I have been here I woke up to thick fog this morning it wasn’t quite such a pea souper this morning but now it’s sunny again we have had a few very dull days this last week and that drizzle where it’s not raining just a drizzle…a change from our normal tropical downpours…
As you may know, I am cutting down on my blogging to enable me to finish the 2 cookbooks I have been working on…so this will be a shorter read…I am also in desperation closing comments after 28days and on earlier posts, I have closed comments in an effort to combat spam as everything else I have tried has not worked all my housekeeping has not made a dent in them they are very persistent so if you wish to comment on an old post please make your comment on a new post and I will pick it up…
Monday Musings…
Welcome to Monday Musings where my muse pinpoints anything exciting or unusual we have read during the last week, it could be anything…I love chocolate… chocolate anything really…O mean who doesn’t?… I love hot chocolate no marshmallows though…I love it with churros and I do love chocolate mint creams…I also love to listen to “Hot Chocolate” Did you know?
The world’s largest cup of hot chocolate was over 6,000 gallons: In 2013, the world’s largest cup of hot chocolate was made in Ontario, Canada. The cup was over 6,000 gallons and was over 26 feet tall. It took over 10,000 litres of milk, 1,000 litres of heavy cream, and 2,000 kilograms of chocolate to make the cup…Wow, I can’t even begin to imagine the size of that cup of hot chocolate…
Monday Musings…9th January 2023…Hot Chocolate…After 40 years I jogged again!
Welcome to the return to Carol’s Green Kitchen…where I shared my joy at having a guided tour of a local Organic Farm and what a pleasure that was…I discovered what a strata was plus I shared Green Manila Tamarind that has just come into season here it is a lovely fruit those little pods are easy to open and they reveal, a white or dark pinkish fruit… to read more please click the highlighted link below…
Thursday Thoughts,,,are where my thoughts could go anywhere this week as it it National Soup Month I shared a lovely Potato and Kale Soup plus is there an alternative to Lithium Batteries…? Please click the highlighted link below to find out…
Finally, on Saturday I shared a rewind of one of Sally’s series where she talks about the brain and its functions a subject dear to my own heart as my dearest mother has Vascular Dementia and I am going to do my damndest to see if I can avoid that terrible disease …. please click the highlighted link below that takes you to Smorgasbord Magazine where you can read the original post and if you missed it you can catch up on last weeks post…
Thank you for joining me today it is lovely to read your comments…finally, I seem to have gotten rid of the copious amount of spam I was getting by closing comments on older posts I would also like to say that if you read my blog and just drop a link to yours no comment just a link I send you to spam it is not a way to increase your readers by link dropping and leaving it is bad blogging etiquette if you are leaving a valid comment that links to the subject of my blog and suggesting I might like to read yours I am more than happy to do that I am not happy to be sold something or let you promote your vapes…rant over…I hope you are all having a great weekend and as always I look forward to your comments xx
Good luck on finishing your books, dear Carol!

I have some sort of filtering option thru WordPress of listing words to look for, that boots the spam ones. I’ve closed comments too. It’s difficult because it’s my old ones that are linked places that are susceptible.

S o do I but its not that efficient I find…(so far) closing comments seems to be the way forward for me and yes it is the old ones but they still target newer ones they are relentless not sure what they achieve for themselves.

I did the same thing—after two weeks my comments close. Guess what? All my spam when away. One week in December, I had 800+ spam comments all on old posts. It works. 🧡

It’s day one today, Colleen and I have been spam free so far like you I was getting hundreds and the thing is regular commenters were getting caught up in those so had to check although sometimes I just gave up…I was finding them on newer posts sometimes though they don’t give up easily we shall see the initial signs are good..said very quietly…xx ❤

HI Carol, I am not a fan of chocolate and very rarely eat sweet things. I only have small tastes of the cakes and desserts I make. I never have, even when I was a small girl. I do have a weakness for cheese. That is a very bit hot chocolate. Did you find that information in the Guinness Book of Records.

I only eat chocolate in small amounts like you, Robbie I prefer cheese and savoury foods…Yes it’s certainly a big cup of chocolate a tad more than I could drink-smile- xx
