I’m very late to this post. Apologies. I spent most of the week trying to finish a new video and get it uploaded.
As I watched your video about Egypt, I couldn’t help thinking how sad it was that King Tut couldn’t be left in peace. I mean, how would we feel if some alien came along and dug up the local cemetery? Sometimes the pursuit of science has very questionable ethics. 😦
I am happy say, however, that I’ve been cleaning the crumb tray on toasters for decades. : D

No need for apologies dear Andrea better late than never as they say -smile-Yes I understand what you are saying but if it hadn’t been unearthed we would not have seen the wonder and brilliance of the workmanship…a double edged sword as they say…Me too I clean mine regularly and also tip it up over the sink to release any stray crumbs -smile-I hope you had fun creating your video although I’m sure you did as you love creating …I hope you have a fabulous weekend 🙂 x

-giggles- I do the sink thing too! Actually it’s strangely satisfying to see all those bits come out of the toaster. We use ours a lot so there’s always a lot that never makes it into the tray.
Re antiquities…yes, there is a fine line between respect and knowledge. King Tut’s tomb was probably the thing that made the Western world realise what a glorious civilization existed in Egypt before the Western nations even crawled out of the mud. Or snow. Or whatever. lol

All kinds of fun and some wonderful clips, Carol, especially of Tut’s tomb. Wow. I don’t have a toaster or I’d be running to my kitchen to check out the secret compartment! And thanks for the song to start my day. 🙂

You are very welcome, Diane… Ahhhhh but do you have a toasting fork and open fire? If so that is far better than a toaster I used to love toasing my bread that way I have childhood memories of being allowed to do toast over the fire… Nancy’s song is one of my favourites from Oliver… 🤗

It is no surpise to me that they didn’t know about a crumb tray. The car salesman (not that young, late 20s) who sold us a car last week had never seen a chequebook! 🙂
When I opened mine to get the sort code and account number, he looked at it as if it was a Roman relic. Then he told me he had never written a letter, bought a stamp, or been inside a bank or Post Office.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

I think many don’t think that’s the only logical explanation…There must be some really grotty toasters about or they turn them upside down and shake the crumbs out…Happy Thursday, Darlene x

Hi Carol, thanks for this post. You are supposed to clean out that tray in the toaster – hides face in hands. The video is fascinating. I took my sons to the Tutankhamun exhibition when it came to SA and I’ve also visited the exhibition at the British Museum in London. It is amazing how nations rise and fall, isn’t it?

I know, Robbie I couldn’t believe was reading…Yes, I have seen an exhibition at the British Museum I visited it many times as a child and also took my children I would have loved to have seen the latest one it sounds awesome…Yes there have certainly been some great nations in the past and they left awesome legacies for us. I wonder how we will be viewed in the future I’m guessing with not so much wonder and awe although there have been some fantastic inventions over the last few centuries 🙂 x
