Welcome to Thursday Thoughts this week has been busy in my mind so many thoughts and so many rabbit holes either from posts, social media or just browsing…
I have long been a fan of Rod Stewart from the early days when he performed at the Blue Rooms (Brays Grove School) with Long John Baldry even Elton John was a member of Baldry’s band…they stayed friends up until Baldry’s passing and in Rods early days Rod and Baldry each produced one side of It Ain’t Easy which became Baldry’s most popular album…
He has long been rich and famous and some prefer his early music as do I but he is clocking up the years and growing old gracefully-smile- in the music world but he still has that spark and will always be a favourite of mine…he also has a common touch and a big heart and puts his money where his mouth is…I love this and before anyone, pipes up he doesn’t need the publicity but of course, it happens I don’t doubt for one minute the manner in which he gave this gift…I hope others follow his example and give back to society it certainly needs it…
Well done Rod x
I love John Rieber’s quest for quirky and unusual foods he always brings a smile to my face and sometimes a “really” but his posts are fun and in this one, John has found that after the black burger bun a red burger bun called Samurai Red Burger from the inventive and quirky Japanese was born…
Please head over to John’s to read the original post by clicking the highlighted link below and say hello you will get a warm welcome…
Rabbit holes…It all started …well not in the beginning but this started in my mind a train of thoughts with Beetleypete’s post and the more I read a post that Pete shared it then took me on a journey culminating in this from a comment that Liz left on Pete’s post…
A bit of background…AI or in full Artificial Intelligence… is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems…the scary thing for me is that machines are gradually taking over our lives and thoughts…years ago when Ford the motor company started using robotic arms to apply car parts I said that humans would be replaced eventually and they have been in so many ways…but that is progress I hear you say and yes but with that comes the downside…where will it stop?
This is a very interesting read from Liz it may be long but for me worth the read…if we are not already being careful (what)we wish for we should be…

like Liz, I will leave it at that and also feel a rant forming…but also a great sadness for the future if we are not careful the very essence of our being will be gone…
Now on to something I can control…My Fitness Update for February…
For the month of February, I completed 143.14km up by 10.71km from January’s total exercise. My knee is now 97% better I am not sure whether I will restart the jogging or just stick to fast walking as it has taken a while to heal and maybe I am pushing it a bit at my age…
The total calories burned over the month was 8,702kcals blimey but it’s worth it when I look at my BP average for the month of 108/72 and the fact I can eat virtually what I want just smaller portions as long as I keep the exercise up…To me, that’s a good trade as I’m also getting lots of fresh air and a good night’s sleep…
Thank you for coming down my rabbit hole today I appreciate your visits, comments and shares…xx
I have to confess, I kind of like Rod Stewart too, although it does feel weird hearing him referred to as ‘Sir Rod’. I hope neither the UK nor Australia ever go down the US path of health care.

Thank you on the backstory on Rod, and how he continues to be a ‘true’ person, also putting his money where his mouth is. I’m glad you featured Pete and Liz here, I love their blogs.

I admire Rod Stewart for his music and for making this gesture as it shows that he is still grounded and aware of what needs to be done.. That burger looks amazing. as to AI, as others have said we tend to be wary of new innovations and as with the Internet and other advances there does tend to be a darker side but on the whole they have turned out to be beneficial.. we shall have to see.. hugs

Fast walking is very good and probably better for knees.

There’s always panic when new technology (e.g. artificial intelligence) arrives. Think of the car, the internet. Yet, we always seem to find ways to adapt. Good one, Carol!

I agree and I accept much..just not sure at the speed and how this will affect our future…maybe I am overthinking it …

I don’t think you are over-reacting. So many aspects of AI scare me too! 😀

Thanks for the mention, Carol. As expected, a post about AI in literature generated a lot of debate.
Best wishes, Pete. x

Hi Carol, there is a saying “what is to be, will be”. If the youth of today are of a mindset to accept AI writing and artworks then so be it. The world changes and the older generation has to hand over to the younger at some point and let them do their worst. I think there will always be people like you and I who think deeper and contribute differently to society.

Hi Robbie…I do hope you are correct and I do accept some change but it could be” a step too far” which is another saying…The Brits love their sayings-smile-I hope yesterday went well for Michael x

Hi Carol, the surgery is okay and the drainage pathway is still open. Michael’s blood pressure is high and there is still a lot of angry redness showing on the scan so the doctor wants to do more auto immune tests. His immune response is excessive and causing these problems. He is also on a preventative antibiotic for the winter.
