Hello and welcome to my weekly roundup of posts, you may have missed during the week…I hope those of you who are experiencing snow stay warm and if you have to drive heed the weather warnings and stay safe…the heat has turned up a few notches here which means walks have to be done early before the heat rises and later when the sun has gone down…
Maprao is coconut. Pao is a young coconut roasted in a fire; later, the burned dark part is removed to keep the centre. So it is quite small. You drink the juice; it is the BEST coconut juice ever. I keep seeing these little coconuts at the market and asked my daughter-in-law what they were…now I know this video shows how they are roasted…
I hope you enjoyed the video of this traditional method of roasting young coconuts.
Now I best get on with last week’s posts starting with Monday Musings…
This post on single-celled yeasts being used in the production of milk was interesting will it become a mainstream product who knows but it’s good to know…Power Outages seem to be a very regular occurrence to some and its good to know how we can stop our food from spoiling there are some good tips in this post and some good tips in the comments thank you for those who shared…and finally one of my favourite tenors(Bocelli) collaborated with Ed Sheeran and the result was wi=onderful I do hope you enjoy!
A-Z of World Cuisine…Germany.
Some of my favourite series have been based on A-Z’s and this one is World Cuisines the latest being the cuisine of Germany a country I have visited a few times over the years…a country famed for its smoked meats and sausages all eaten with a pitcher of beer for which they are also famed…I hope you enjoy this virtual tour…
Thursday Thoughts…
Cher Ami what a heroic little pigeon…
The reason I shared this was prompted by a comment from a friend on social media(FB) her question was “Why after 3 days has this post got no likes or comments”…If you read post you will of course-smile-hear my thoughts on this-smile-
The Natural Antibiotic I showcased this week was ACV or Apple Cider Vinegar a staple in my home with many uses ….Music was again provided by Bocelli and this time his collaboration with another favourite of mine Pentatonix…Fabulous…
Thursday Thoughts…24th March 2023…Cher Ami a hero, Natural Antibiotic, Apple Cider Vinegar,
Smorgasbord Health…The Liver.
I have always had a smattering of knowledge as to what was where in my body and the functions of any said organ however as I have got older and have more time on my hands-smile-I have found a new urgency to know more and if possible give me and my family the best chance of staying disease free with good mobility always a plus at my age-big grin-plus there is so much we can do to help ourselves…
I am an advocate for eating good food, in season and for keeping our bodies as chemical-free as we can all things you and I can control…after all it’s our hands who hold the fork …
This is why I find Smorgasbord Magazine a great starting point…I trust my friend Sally as she has the knowledge and experience in nutrition.
Thank you so much for joining me today as always I look forward to your comments and appreciate your shares…I hope you all have had or are having and enjoyable week and have a fabulous week ahead xx
A great round up 👍🏻
