CarolCooks2…Weekly Roundup…Butterfly Pea Tea, Plastic Bags,

Good morning and welcome to this week’s roundup just in case you missed some although I missed last week as I was on a jolly to Bangkok to meet my number #1 Son we had a lovely weekend of tea tasting, temples, shopping and of course eating delicious street food…I didn’t even ..shock horror take my laptop…haha

Do you know the difference between a Biodegradable Plastic bag and a Compostable Plastic Bag?

Do I use biodegradable bags or compostable bags?

How can we be sure biodegradable bags are really eco-friendly? Are they the same as degradable plastic bags?

There are independent certification schemes you can look out for that give you peace of mind about the claims being made. But it means that you must do your research…To help you a little I have conducted some research and these are my findings…

My next post is my Waste Not! Want Not series

It is certainly pleasing to see so much tree planting happening around the world and things do certainly seem to be ratching up a few notches there are lots of encouraging stories which leads me to think all may not quite be lost just yet but we mustn’t drop the baton…For the sake of our children, grandchildren and future generations, we must do all we can…

Fajitas are my grandsons new favourite dinner so I have been told …Something I rarely cook but it looks like that will be changing…haha…My preference is smoked mackerel with green mango salad but it wouldn’t do for us all to be alike would it and I love nothing better than seeing a child enjoy his/her food…

About Carol Taylor:

Enjoying life in The Land Of Smiles I am having so much fun researching, finding new, authentic recipes both Thai and International to share with you. New recipes gleaned from those who I have met on my travels or are just passing through and stopped for a while. I hope you enjoy them.

I love shopping at the local markets, finding fresh, natural ingredients, new strange fruits and vegetable ones I have never seen or cooked with. I am generally the only European person and attract much attention and I love to try what I am offered and when I smile and say Aroy or Saab as it is here in the north I am met with much smiling.

Some of my recipes may not be in line with traditional ingredients and methods of cooking but are recipes I know and have become to love and maybe if you dare to try you will too. You will always get more than just a recipe from me as I love to research and find out what other properties the ingredients I use contain to improve our health and wellbeing.

The environment is also something I am passionate about and there will be more on this on my blog this year

Exciting for me hence the title of my blog, Retired No One Told Me! I am having a wonderful ride and don’t want to get off, so if you wish to follow me on my adventures, then welcome! I hope you enjoy the ride also and if it encourages you to take a step into the unknown or untried, you know you want to…….Then, I will be happy!

More and more of my blogging friends have joined me on MeWe…A social media site which is fairly new and which promises much without the restrictions some other social media sites are choosing to impose on many of us…Join me if you will on  mewe.com/i/caroltaylor3

Smorgasbord Blog Magazine – Weekly Round Up -Herbie Hancock, Gems from Your Archives and Talkative Parrots.

A fantastic week from Sally including potato soup one of my favourites from Jacquie, Jazz from Will, lots of stories, A trip to Rome and much more… on that note I am going to get some shuteye to catch up on my beauty sleep after my weekend of food and frolics in Bangkok…Enjoy!

Welcome to the round up of posts on the blog you might have missed this week.

We currently have a digger in the back garden, a cement filled trench awaiting blocks for a retaining wall and mounds of earth, that I am sure will be turned into a wonderfully landscaped vista by the end of the week.. that’s the plan anyway.

I had to do a complete replant of my pots this week as the ones I bought from a supermarket as good value, turned out to be duds.. I did think when I put them in that they were too dry and watered them and gave them some feed but after two weeks of TLC… most had died. Anyway… I went to my usual garden centre and paid a bit more and they are all thriving. Just goes to show sometimes bargains do not work out. It is the…

Smorgasbord Blog Magazine

Welcome to the  Posts from Your Archives, where bloggers put their trust in me. In this series, I dive into a blogger’s archives and select four posts to share here to my audience.

If you would like to know how it works here is the original post:https://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com/2019/04/28/smorgasbord-posts-from-your-archives-newseries-pot-luck-and-do-you-trust-me/

Carol Taylor does an amazing job each week with the food column and healthy eating posts here on Smorgasbord, and she deserves a break to get on with her own writing projects for a few weeks. So I am going to share four posts from Carol’s archives instead and she will be back with us on June 12th..  The first post is a throwback to when Carol and I first met in 2015 when she contributed a post about a Thai dog rescue organisation.

Things to do today: 1. Get Up… 2. Survive…..3……. Go to bed!

Today I am reblogging one of my early posts …I have added a few updates and it features Saangchais early days… I am having a problem with my media …Hands up I have never done any housekeeping so all my fault…never thought about file size..just blogged… So I need to sort it out so for a few days it will be my scheduled posts and reblogs and if anyone has any pointers as to how and where I start to sort my media I would be very grateful and love you for ever…Well that was a little over the top but I would be very grateful for some help on the way forward with this as I know I can upgrade and I will after I have sorted my existing media as otherwise it will get left and then happen all over again …xxx

Retired? No one told me!

Well that’s my day sorted!

So I stretched, opened my eyes….sun shining through the window…reached for my little silky number that I put on in the morning…must have slipped to the floor…..picked it up, put it on…and it slipped slowly straight off……no straps….and there they were beautifully displayed on the floor.!

Saang Chai!  I got this sleepy one-eyed look and then it dawned on him..he crept to my feet, literally doing that slidey movement dogs do when they know they shouldn’t have and gave me the baby browns…morning mum..love you….I wonder methinks that on Monday whether he will tell the whole truth and nothing but?…..Just licked it my arsss……..

Welcome to my world and my life with my humans.
