But I think that maybe if I chew any more she might tell me off..but she went out in that big truck….. you know the one that makes me sick……and when she came back she had bought me lots more toys……a ball that I am really trying to chew but I can’t get through it…I think it’s one of them Kong things……..but it’s fun when my…

Day 6 of the life of a Soi Dog called Saang chai who is now our forever friend and companion.

Well the first few days were ok we were just doing a lot of sniffing around and getting to know every nook and cranny. It was strange as I had never lived in a house.I spent my first 4 months on the streets and the man who I belonged to said he would do something nasty to me if somone didn’t take me and my sister away……. so a nice lady took us to Soi Dogs who were very kind to us and we lived with other street puppies in a big run …….but they fed us, gave us injections and an operation..woof not sure about that…lots of people came to see us and my sister went with 1 of them which made me sad but…..then one day a boy and some grownups…

Properly trained, man can be a dog’s best friend!

Another post from my archives on the Soi Dogs of Thailand… I hope that some of you if you are thinking of getting a dog or puppy consider the numerous dogs who have been neglected , abandoned and all awaiting a good home, A forever home….xxx

Retired? No one told me!

Anyone who has been or lived in Thailand knows that they have a huge stray dog population. I also have many friends who have ” adopted ” stray’s/street dogs and generally it is in the plural.

Come on who can resist a sad face particularly when it’s a cute puppy or a dog who looks as if he just needs a cuddle, a clean bed and nice food instead of begging for scraps or going down the bins as many do.

Or if they have been badly treated, badly bitten in fights because dogs can be vicious when fighting another dog or humans they can be equally as vicious to our furry friends.

Prapas Pinyocheep, director of the Bureau of Disease Control and Veterinary Services, said on Monday the latest nationwide survey of the dog population, in 2014, concluded there were around 8.5 million dogs… 700,000 are considered to be  strays and…

Aston with Saangchai

Wow…what a week!

Where to start…..Well rain and thunder in copious amounts, severe weather warnings for all of Phuket.

Lovely green grass though so that’s a bonus. The pool is overflowing but still as clear as a bell…….We also decided to get a puppy..with a little help from said grandson.

Tuesday( Monday we were just rained in)  Soi Dogs here we come…. They are a local organization who do a fabulous job in rescuing and rehoming doggies. Thailand has lots of street dogs so they run a spaying and vaccination project, they work tirelessly to help the dogs and also to stop the meat trade in dogs.

We did the tour and spent time in the puppy house…awwwww so many………I sat on the edge of one of their play slides and was joined by two of them, a lovely little black and tan puppy and one who was a tad older who just put…
