Day 30 of #bloganuary…Today’s prompt is…How do you feel when you look at the stars?

Hooray….those of you who are still with me we did it!…. Well Done Everyone… But how do I feel when I look up at the stars…as I am currently reading “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking very differently than I used to…

I grew up being sung Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to me by my mother and I, in turn, have sung the song to my kids and my grandkids…how my impression of the stars has now changed when I look up now I see far more and wonder at the vastness and mystery of the universe.

It fills me with wonder, makes me a little scared but also leaves me wanting to know more…Thanks to Stephen Hawking…

Pleeese…I can’t wait for tomorrow’s prompt-sigh- A tree????

I thought of going with Disney…so cute and then I thought of me as a mum…

In Chapter 2, verse 9 from The Book of Genesis, the Bible says the Tree of Life is sacred to the Garden of Eden. It holds the knowledge of all good and evil that is in existence. Human life is like a tree because just as a tree grows taller and wider throughout its life with the right nourishment, so do we…it very rare I quote from the bible but I believe as a mother that from conception to the end we are like a tree with so many branches as we guide our children through their lives…not only is it a tree but it is the circle of life…the two are intermingled.

This is one of my favourite pictures of my grandson and his friends…the branches of the tree keeping them safe…just like a mother’s arms…so yes as a mother and grandmother I suppose I am like a tree with lots of branches… we have many branches …of love..of knowledge …of experiences to share…to protect…x

Day 26 of #bloganuary…Today’s prompt is…Where do you go when you need solitude?

Our language has wisely sensed the two sides of being alone. It has created the word loneliness to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word solitude to express the glory of being alone. Paul Tillich.

This is absolutely true as you get older you realise the difference between loneliness and solitude…

I lived in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in maturity. Albert Einstein.

I can have solitude in my office, I can have solitude on my daily walks either on a beach or walking by the lake, Just staring into space, sitting under a tree, baking bread, listening to music or just walking to the market… it’s very easy for me to get lost in my thoughts but I enjoy that time with just my thoughts..when I was younger I didn’t want to go shopping on my own I wanted company…

Now I love shopping on my own as I can lose myself with my thoughts I can plan recipes in my head… it gives me time to browse the vegetables and fruits …think about how I can use them… my best recipes come about by doing that…

Even among all the people shopping, I can be alone with my thoughts…

CarolCooks2…#bloganuary 2022…What is your favorite part about yourself?

Day 25 of #bloganuary…Today’s prompt is…What is your favourite part about yourself?

Like Loyd Grossman who is an American-British author, broadcaster famous for pasta sauces and Masterchef fame where he deliberated, conjugated and digested…like I have been doing with this prompt all day…

Wow, it shows how long I have been watching Masterchef and how it has evolved over the years…but I digress…

I have found it very difficult to look at myself and blow my own trumpet it doesn’t sit easily with me…

However…I do find it easy to talk to people and I smile and laugh a lot…I am also curious and do a lot of research on anything and everything…I take very little at face value I like to check it out for myself…

But one phrase stands out that has been said of me by people, bosses and I remembered that today…

I would have to say that my favourite thing about me is ” I am like a breath of fresh air ”

That’s it for today...Have a lovely evening or morning depending on where you are in the world…and smile as it is a proven fact that laughter is the best medicine and “smile” and the world smiles with you…
