Hello and welcome to this weeks news and views on Climate Change and recycling…Thank you for all your comments last week it was lovely to have that two-way discussion going…Thank you also to all of you who shared the post and spread the news and views. It seems many of you loved the video on the Sai Sanctuary as much as I did …Trees really do play such an important role in the circle of life…
There have been a few things this last week which have really made me question things…Generally, I am a happy soul and try to keep my posts positive but circumstances are making that very hard…I don’t know why or when as a society it has happened but it has and is happening…I want to believe in the good and the kind…But all these reminders telling us to be kind really shouldn’t be needed…Should they?
I look back through history …I love my research …I have come to the conclusion that man is flawed…I know nothing is perfect and who would want to live in Eutopia? I agree we must progress and grow and that most progression is good… we need inventors…But in that race we are losing something…Something fundamental…
Trees so vital to this planet and its water supply…Flowers so vital for the survival of the bees, Plastic…Plastic…sigh…I have accepted it is an essential part of our lives…What isn’t acceptable is how we deal with the end of its use…
I am terrible at taking photos…But A good photographer to me is our eyes …They show us what is going on in the world…There is an old saying that the camera doesn’t lie…Well, that was true before photoshopping…I am afraid we need to check everything…So much is photoshopped, edited, that we do need to check…No longer can we rely on what we see or hear to be gospel ..the truth…sigh…
I check everything before I post...well as much as I can…I tend to believe the indigenous communities who suffer the most from our actions…sigh…But we can’t see them can we…sigh…We throw our rubbish away during the course of our daily life … a cigarette butt, our small plastic drink bottle, our plastic coffee stirrer, our chewing gum, our six-pack plastic holder, the wrapper from a fag packet…sigh …all these small items add up…Where do you think they end up?
Photographer Caroline Power has a home on the island of Roatan in the Carribean and was out at sea when she came across this “Great Caribbean Garbage Patch”.
In my naughty Corner(again)
When will this stop!
Not only are Coca Cola, Nestle and Pepsico polluting our oceans and killing sea life but they are contributing to obesity and life-threatening conditions...Sigh.Are they worried? Do they care? Of course not…They are laughing all the way to the bank…
There is one easy solution…Improve your health and clean up the planet in one small swoop…STOP…BUYING…DRINKS IN PLASTIC BOTTLES…
Who will do that?
It is a global problem…Our oceans are suffocating…The good news…
How cool is that? Rubber ducks?
This is where Interceptor is working already, Jakarta…The good news is spreading…Thailand will be having one which is good news…
Happy Days…Clean rivers and seas…
I came across this…I am asking all you Beekeepers …What do you think?
Do bees love Cannabis?
I refuse plastic spoons and cutlery now and have done for a while but if you have a hoard of them or know someone who does here’s what you can do with them…
These are very pretty and a good use for plastic spoons…
I love all the interactions on these posts it makes me feel good and keeps me positive that we are working towards a cleaner, safer earth… especially when my readers send me little snippets of good news when they come across it …Victoria Zigler sends me lots of good news items and this is one of them…
What do you think? My little alarm bell is tinkling…I always want to know more…Is it a safe option?… It could be but to me, it doesn’t hurt to have questions …
It sounds good…
So does this…Thank you, Tori...You are a little star …xxx
As most of you know we don’t have a car we walk or use public transport which I do acknowledge is excellent here…This idea rewards people for doing that with culture tokens how cool is that? I do hope it succeeds…It is a pilot scheme being run in Vienna (Austria) …The city of culture…
How cool is this….Go Vienna!
My dear friend Anne Copeland had this to say…
This seems right up your alley if you have not already seen it. By the way, more info on fabrics and recycling. Many fabrics are processed with formaldehyde and you can imagine that it NEVER breaks down. The fabrics in the late 1900s (before 2020) particularly used this treatment. So it is very bad not to try to recycle every bit of clothing we have. I wish seniors in high school and young people in jr. college and in universities would be encouraged to find ways to use these materials. And we are always talking about housing for the homeless, but nothing is ever come up with. We could probably use some of the materials that are not currently used wisely to create new forms of housing, furniture, etc. with the proper treatment. They are beginning to use the shipping containers, so why not some of these other things? Hopefully, more focus on recycling will come. It is affecting our food sources as well as the overall environment and our health, to name a few, too much not to take notice. Good for you for championing the cause.
Thank you, Anne, for sharing… you know so much more about fabrics than I do…I will keep my eyes out for the Discovery Channels new article on plastics…Due out in April this year…Bless you xx
Finally…Thank you for sticking with me….I love the Kelly Clarkson Show and I can download it here…I watch the Voice( I love) it and this show I just love how it promotes ideas and encourages ideas on how we can protect the environment and get healthy…This video made me cry… so beautiful …So grab the tissues…xx
Thank you, John Rieber, for your kind words last week…Alex is doing a great job with this show x
Just imagine if we all thought of just one idea which appeals to us…Think of all those bottles we are saving from going to landfill or into the sea…..With so many ideas and enthusiasm around the world to make a difference, we will save the world.
Thank you if you are still here and reading to the end…I look forward to your comments xx
About Carol Taylor: Enjoying life in The Land Of Smiles I am having so much fun researching, finding new, authentic recipes both Thai and International to share with you. New recipes gleaned from those who I have met on my travels or are just passing through and stopped for a while. I hope you enjoy them.
I love shopping at the local markets, finding fresh, natural ingredients, new strange fruits and vegetable ones I have never seen or cooked with. I am generally the only European person and attract much attention and I love to try what I am offered and when I smile and say Aroy or Saab as it is here in the north I am met with much smiling.
Some of my recipes may not be in line with traditional ingredients and methods of cooking but are recipes I know and have become to love and maybe if you dare to try you will too. You will always get more than just a recipe from me as I love to research and find out what other properties the ingredients I use contain to improve our health and wellbeing.
Exciting for me hence the title of my blog, Retired No One Told Me! I am having a wonderful ride and don’t want to get off, so if you wish to follow me on my adventures, then welcome! I hope you enjoy the ride also and if it encourages you to take a step into the unknown or untried, you know you want to…….Then, I will be happy!
Thank you once again for reading this post I hope you all have a great week xx
