Smorgasbord Health Column – Size Matters: The Sequel – #Morbid Obesity – #CandidaAlbicans – Starving the fungus and feeding the body by Sally Cronin

Sally is correct when she states that,,, Our physical approach, our mental attitude and our emotions are all factors in how we overcome disease and obesity, and should all be addressed when looking for the right programme that will work for each individual.

Personally, I don’t like the word “diet” to me it means I have to deprive my body of foods I like to eat…Chocolate isn’t my thing, however(lol) a nice piece of fudge is…or Marks and Spencer’s “Mint Crumbles”…I am salivating here…just thinking about them…However…I also think about my mortality..so much to do and how much time do I have…I am not being morbid here I am just weighing up the facts…I have a choice and that led me to enjoy all the things I had dreams about…and when I stepped off that plane in the UK the tasting began… all those things I have been dreaming of eating again… I had a list,, albeit a mental list and I intended to tick it off as I went…that didn’t bode well …my body reacted big time very quickly and then when I returned home and normal eating resumed it reacted very quickly in the opposite direction… I’m sure you don’t need me to spell it out…normal service after a few weeks has now returned…Phew…

It does however put Sally’s series into perspective…”Food Matters”..Our choices of “Food Matter”… matter to our health, well-being and longevity…It’s not a diet it’s a lifestyle…But please note that the above foods are still on my menu..albeit in moderation…big smile…

Imbrolic, Bridget and baking

I love these griddle scones and think I will be off to kitchen soon…

The reeds, or ideally, rushes have to be pulled – not cut, preferably by the youngest girl in the family, before the sun rises.  Traditionally these are made each year and hung up over a door as a protection against fire.

As it turns out, long before she was a Saint, Bridget was a Celtic goddess in her own right, and her reach extended from the north west of Ireland through Scotland, The…
