Welcome to Monday Musings where my muse pinpoints anything exciting or unusual I have read, seen or experienced during the last week it could be anything that piques my interest…as I type the weather has gone from 44C which it has been for most of this week to dark and thundery and boy is the thunder loud here and a 26C so much cooler…is it just crashing noisily about or will we get much-needed rain?

Of course, Saturday King Charles was crowned… another moment in history…I thought he looked most overwhelmed…a long-awaited time for him.

I also loved the moment when William pledged his allegiance to his father and King a lovely father and son moment…plus the beautiful Kate showed her support as she curtsied to her King…A joyous occasion!

A sobering moment for me this last week was how mortal we are and how we should treat every day as a blessing as we never know what tomorrow will bring…

I am a huge Masterchef fan and was saddened to hear of the passing of Jock Zonfrillo a much-loved and respected Masterchef Judge and chef…This morning I watched the first episode of the new series his family wanted it to go ahead it was surreal watching a young apparently healthy man knowing that he was now dead…I feel so sorry for his wife and young children who won’t see their beloved daddy again…R, I.P. Jock…I’m sure you are cooking up a storm up there…

Today on 8th May 1879 George Selden filed for the 1st patent for a gasoline-driven automobile…

It was also on this same day in 1886, that Jacob’s Pharmacy in Atlanta sells the first Coca-Cola which was in a syrup form that (contained cocaine)…It was the creation of Dr John Pemberton as a tonic for common ailments.

He likely had no idea what was in store for his product, the company, and an industry that would grow into the giant it is today…on his death, the company’s new chairman made changes and the cocaine was removed and the drink coco-cola was born…the rest is history…

Two events that have had a grave impact on the planet and our health…in one way or another…
